Alex Faedo To Return And Start On Friday
1 year agoDetroit Tigers right-hander Alex Faedo (finger) will return from the 15-day injured list to start on Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays, according to manager A.J. Hinch. Faedo will finally rejoin Detroit's starting rotation for the first time since late May after having surgery to remove his right middle fingernail. The 27-year-old gave up four runs on six hits in just 3 1/3 innings in his lone minor-league rehab start, so he probably isn't a candidate to go deep into his start on Friday against a tough opponent. Before going on the injured list, Faedo was 1-3 for the Tigers with a 5.54 ERA (4.52 FIP), 0.92 WHIP, two walks and 26 strikeouts in 26 innings over five starts. He should remain in the Tigers' rotation to begin the second half of the season, but fantasy managers should be looking to avoid him as a streamer on Friday.
