Adley Rutschman Crushes First Spring Training Homer
10 months agoBaltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-3 Grapefruit League win over the Boston Red Sox. He took Red Sox pitcher Garrett Whitlock deep to center field for his first spring training homer. The 26-year-old broke out in 2023, slashing .277/.374/.435 with 20 home runs, 80 RBI, 84 runs, and a stolen base over 687 plate appearances. Baltimore values his bat in the lineup as Rutschman served as the team's primary designated hitter for 46 of the 154 games he played last season, giving him more opportunities to produce. Rutschman is the unanimous No. 1 catcher in fantasy baseball and is a solid pick at his current NFBC ADP of 47, especially in leagues that require managers to start two catchers.
