Aaron Judge Not Taking Batting Practice Friday
9 months agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge (abdomen, oblique) is not listed in Friday's batting practice groups in camp. Manager Aaron Boone said on Thursday that if Judge didn't take batting practice on Friday, he would not play in the team's Grapefruit League game on Saturday. Instead of BP, Judge said he would go through his normal routine in the weight room and hit in the batting cages. "I don't know. We'll see when that day comes," Judge said when asked if he would play Saturday. Although Judge said he'd be playing if it were the regular season, the Yankees aren't going to take any chances with the 31-year-old All-Star slugger in spring training. Even if Judge doesn't play on Saturday, he should be back in a spring game soon and is still expected to be ready for Opening Day on March 28.
