Aaron Ashby Hopes To Return By Mid-May
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers left-hander Aaron Ashby (shoulder) hopes to be pitching for the team by the middle of May if everything goes well in his recovery from a left shoulder impingement and a slight labral tear. The 24-year-old southpaw needed a platelet-rich plasma injection in his shoulder in late January, which will cause him to miss the first at least a month of the 2023 season. Ashby went 2-10 with a 4.44 ERA (4.06 FIP), 1.42 WHIP, one save and 26.5 percent strikeout rate in 107 1/3 innings over 27 appearances (19 starts) last year in his second MLB campaign. Despite his injury, he still has plenty of long-term appeal in fantasy, although those in shallow mixed leagues can safely leave him to the waiver to begin this season.
