Pablo Sandoval Wants a Better Sequel For Kung Fu Panda in Boston

Pablo Sandoval bid a sad farewell to San Francisco after the 2014 season after signing with Boston. He didn't bowl anyone over during his first season in a Red Sox uniform. His numbers were a far cry from his best days: .245 with 10 homers and 47 RBIs, which came NOWHERE near his '09 line of .330, 25 homers and 90 RBIs. He did only have 470 at-bats last year, but as far as third basemen go, he's not anyone's first, second or third consideration. Heck, one of our three writers didn't even rank him among the top 300 '16 players. Ouch. The other two pegged him between picks No. 206 and No. 225. Boston is a tough place to play when one's not producing and Sandoval has to pick up his game. Otherwise the fans are going to treat him like Po at the beginning of "Kung Fu Panda." Most would be happy with a .280 average and maybe 15 or more homers. Otherwise, he's going to be teary-eyed for other reasons. Draft him in lower rounds, but carefully consider other options first.
