NFL DFS: Rams vs. Lions DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Football Picks - Sunday Night Showdown Slate (Wild Card Weekend)

Puka Nacua - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Tonight's top NFL DFS lineup picks for DraftKings, Fanduel - Rams vs. Lions showdown slate for Wild Card Weekend (Jan 14, 2024). Koby's NFL daily fantasy sleeper picks.

Happy Sunday, RotoBallers! Welcome back to another Showdown on the first week of the NFL Playoffs! Last weekend might have been one of my roughest articles, it felt like nothing was going right, Pickens was hardly targeted the entire game and killed every single one of my lineups. Hopefully, this time around we have a little more luck! The Rams and Lions should be a shootout as both defenses struggle against the pass. This one could come down to the last play.

I absolutely love playing the NFL showdowns each weekend, it has become one of my favorite forms of DFS. Nothing is more thrilling than having a lineup consisting of players from one game and sweating it out while watching it live. There is a lot less room for error, though, with there being fewer options to choose from. Hopefully, with all the advanced stats, I will be able to bring you the best analysis possible and get you some extra cash for the weekend ahead.

I will be providing you with daily fantasy football picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for the Rams vs. Lions NFL DFS showdown slate on January 14. These NFL DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. If you have any questions, you can follow me on Twitter/X @DFSKoby and fire away, or sign up for a premium RotoBaller NFL package and chat with me and other NFL DFS analysts at any time you'd like in our RotoBaller Discord!

MVP/Captain - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Puka Nacua- WR, $15,600 (DK), $13,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 1,486 receiving yards, 105 receptions, 6 touchdowns

The rookie sensation has been impeccable this season! He set multiple records throughout the year including the rookie receiving yards and reception records. For the first round of the playoffs, he gets a fantastic matchup against the Lions who are giving up the third most fantasy points to opposing WRs this season. That being said, Puka may become a pretty chalky option if you want to go cheaper than Kupp or Robinson. I believe Kupp is the boom play but I love Puka for his floor and consistency this season.

Jared Goff- QB, $14,100 (DK), $13,000 (FD)

Jared Goff is in a great position to light it up. The Rams have a stout run defense which means I think this game will end up being a passing clinic and who better to throw at the captain than the person throwing the ball? The Rams give up the seventh-most fantasy points to WRs and fourth-most to TEs plus he has a great dual threat in Jahmyr Gibbs as well. This is a recipe for a multi-TD game which is a lot of fantasy points.

Other Captains/MVPs: Amon-Ra St. Brown, Matthew Stafford, Sam LaPorta (if he plays)

Flex Plays - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Sam LaPorta - DEF, $7,600 (DK), $10,000 (FD)

This comes down to whether he plays or not. If he does I see him as a must-start, The Rams are giving up the fourth-most fantasy points to TEs this season and the last time he had this good of a matchup was against Denver who ranks first. He had three touchdowns on five receptions for 56 yards against the Broncos. Both Isaiah Likely and Juwan Johnson had great games against this season's Rams defense and LaPorta is a better TE than both of those. If he plays, fire him up.

Kyren Williams- RB, $10,000 (DK), $15,000 (FD)

It is an expensive flex option but even with the stout run defense of Detroit, if the Rams get within the five-yard line, that has been Kyren Williams' bread and butter. The Detroit Defense is allowing just over one rushing TD per game this season and Kyren has shown to be the premier back in LA now and Sean McVay won't hesitate to give him the rock.

Other Flex Options: Cooper Kupp, Jahmyr Gibbs

Value Plays - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Demarcus Robinson- WR, $5,400 (DK), $9,500 (FD)

Like I said before about Puka, Robinson has been quite great to finish the season out. He has completely stepped over Tutu Atwell in the rotation and has become a solid WR3; over the last five games he has had four touchdowns and scored 10+ fantasy points in all five of those games. This play is a bit better on DraftKings but can still be a solid play on FD as well. Robinson has been solid and has gained the trust of Stafford in the receiving core.

Brock Wright- TE, $2,000 (DK), $6,500 (FD)

This is a play only if LaPorta doesn't play. Sam hasn't missed a game yet this season but with TEs being in such a good position against the Rams if LaPorta doesn't play, at this price Brock Wright has to be an option. Putting him in your lineups makes for getting another stud in your lineup. I hate that a lot of this revolves around LaPorta playing or not but as soon as we get that news it will help lock in our lineups. After T.J. Hockenson left last season, Brock saw an increase in production and had four touchdowns in his time as starting TE. At 2k on DK it is worth a shot!

Other Value Plays: Jameson Williams, Brett Maher

Good luck, everyone!
