NFL DFS Lineup Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings - Dolphins vs. Eagles SNF Showdown

Jaylen Waddle - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL DFS Picks

John's top NFL DFS lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings - Dolphins vs. Eagles DFS showdown slate on 10/22. His Sunday Night Football daily fantasy football advice.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! We have quite an interesting showdown tonight as Tua, Tyreek, and the best offense in football in the Miami Dolphins (5-1) head into Philly to take on Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and the Philadelphia Eagles (5-1). The Eagles dropped their first game of the season last Sunday against the Jets and will look to bounce back as they show off their Kelly green throwback jerseys tonight. We're mostly all-clear in terms of weather tonight, although some wind gusts early may reach 25 mph. Let's see how that affects our DFS lineups.

We've been pretty successful over the past few seasons with these showdown slates and hopefully, that trend continues from last year into this year. Most of us started our fantasy journeys with football, so it's always nice when it comes around. Thanks to the advanced analytics of today, I'll do my best to provide you with as much in-depth analysis as possible regarding positional matchups and the like to help put some lunch money in your pocket. Let's make some coin this season gang, and let's get right to it.

I will be providing you with daily fantasy football picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for the Dolphins vs. Eagles Sunday Night NFL DFS showdown slate on October 22. These NFL DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. MVP/Captain Plays

Jalen Hurts - QB, $17,100 (DK), $17,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 1,542 passing yards, seven touchdowns, seven interceptions, 63 carries, 253 rushing yards, five rushing touchdowns, and one fumble lost.
  • Projected Pass DVOA: 17.67%

I'll start things off with Jalen Hurts. Hurts had a tough game against Robert Saleh's defense in Week 6, throwing three interceptions in 45 attempts, including one with less than two minutes left, leading to a Jets victory. Tonight, Hurts projects to 266.88 passing yards and 1.62 touchdowns while adding just under 44 yards on 9.12 carries and a 75% chance of scoring a rushing touchdown. While things may be "easier" tonight in terms of the matchup, the Eagles are going to need Hurts and the offense to get things going in order to keep up with the enigmatic Dolphins.

Jaylen Waddle - WR, $12,900 (DK), $11,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 35 targets, 24 receptions, 296 receiving yards, two touchdowns.

On the other side of the field, I'll take a look at Jaylen Waddle. Waddle gives us an opportunity to save some of our salary by putting him in the captain spot. Waddle projects 6.25 receptions on 7.89 targets for 75.11 yards and 0.48 touchdowns. Darius Slay will be back in the lineup tonight after missing Week 6's matchup in MetLife, but the Eagles' secondary is still very shaky and I expect both Waddle and Hill to have yet another big night.

Other Captains/MVPs: Tyreek Hill, Tua Tagovailoa, D'Andre Swift, Dallas Goedert

DFS Flex Plays

Tyreek Hill - WR, $12,000 (DK), $16,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 59 targets, 42 receptions, 814 receiving yards, six touchdowns.

Speaking of Tyreek Hill, there's no way I couldn't mention him on this slate. He projects to have another huge game, catching 7.93 of his 10.79 targets for 101.65 yards and 0.73 touchdowns. Hill has been electric all season, and despite the aforementioned Darius Slay back in the secondary tonight, I don't think there's anyone who can stop Hill for an extended period of time. The Eagles will be missing safety Reed Blankenship in this one as well, opening the door for deep shots early and often.

D'Andre Swift - RB $8,000 (DK), $12,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 86 carries, 452 rushing yards, 27 targets, 23 receptions, 115 receiving yards, three touchdowns.
  • Projected Rush DVOA: 22.81%

In order for the Eagles to win this game, in my opinion, they'll need to keep the Dolphins offense off of the field. The biggest factor in making that happen is D'Andre Swift. Swift has had a good season to this point in Philly, and there were a lot of questions regarding why he didn't touch the ball more in Sunday's loss to the Jets. Nevertheless, he projects to touch the ball 16.22 times tonight (13.4 carries, 2.82 receptions) for a total of 89.33 yards and 0.61 touchdowns. I think he'll get more attempts on the ground unless the Eagles decide to more of a "by-committee" approach with Kenneth Gainwell.

Other Flex Options: A.J. Brown, Dallas Goedert

DFS Value Plays

Kenneth Gainwell - RB, $3,800 (DK), $7,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 41 carries, 141 rushing yards, 12 targets, nine receptions, 43 receiving yards.
  • Projected Rush DVOA: 22.81%

On that note, we'll take a look at Kenny Gainwell here, too. This slate doesn't offer a ton in terms of value, with a lot of the really good matchups funneled to each team's "studs". Nevertheless, I'll take a stab at Gainwell tonight, despite projecting to just 24.25 rushing yards on 5.36 carries and 1.2 receptions for 10.71 yards on 1.73 targets. He could be a "change of pace" for the Eagles' offense and does project to 0.25 touchdowns, for what it's worth.

Julio Jones - WR, $2,000 (DK), $7,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: No stats.

I'll wrap things up with Julio Jones because why not? Jones signed to the Eagles' practice squad this week and was elevated yesterday as Quez Watkins was placed on IR last week. God only knows how much Julio has in the tank, but according to his quote in an interview with the Philly media, he said something along the lines of "I'm here to dominate, don't get it twisted." We'll see if that rings true tonight. Unfortunately, I don't have any projections for him for tonight due to the mid-week signing, but I'll take a shot regardless.

Other Value Options: Jake Elliott, Chase Claypool

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and good luck everyone!
