The Daily NBA Fantasy Shopper: NBA Expert Picks for DraftStreet - 11/25/2013

A rash of injuries to star players leaves many solid options for the savvy player in today’s daily NBA leagues.  Whenever there's an underpriced guy available, the opportunity for return on investment is high and that can really help you to dominate your matchups.  Let's see what we have available to us for this Monday's games:

PG: Kirk Hinrich: ($10,600): With yet another knee injury to Derrick Rose, Hinrich has stepped into the starting point guard role for the Bulls. He is a Tom Thibodeau favorite, as evidenced by the big minutes he has played in the first two games without Rose.  Although he did not have huge games, with Hinrich’s current price and play-making ability, he is just about a must-own.  The fact that he faces a Utah team that struggles against opposing backcourts is only icing on the cake.

SG: Lance Stephenson ($11,982): The only player to record multiple triple-doubles this year, Stephenson has had a banner season for the Pacers.  He is putting up solid all-around numbers with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists a game.  The matchup tonight is a great one, as the Timberwolves give up over 100 points a game. Stephenson’s individual matchup will likely be even better as the defensively challenged Kevin Martin will be on him on defense.  Near triple-double numbers are a possibility again tonight.

SF: Kyle Singler ($6,037): Since he entered the starting lineup for Josh Smith two games ago, Singler has been more than solid.  In those two games, he has posted a combined 33 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks.  Singler fits in nicely with the front line of Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe, as he is a good perimeter shooter and should continue to get open looks.  He will not provide huge numbers outside of his scoring, but for this price he could easily outperform players who cost twice as much.

LaMarcus Aldridge1PF: LaMarcus Aldridge ($17,318): Aldridge and the Blazers have been on an absolute tear, winning 10 games in a row.  This came to a head Saturday as Aldridge posted 30 points, 21 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks to have one of the best fantasy nights of the season for any player.  Tonight, Portland faces a New York team that gives up 100 points a game and is 28th in the NBA in rebounding.  With a frontcourt of Carmelo Anthony and Andrea Bargnani, Aldridge should have another monster night.  He has also been over 20 points in five of his last six games, so the risk of a poor game is nearly non-existent as long as this hot streak continues.

C: Kosta Koufos ($10,793): With the news that Marc Gasol is out indefinitely with a sprained knee, interest in Koufos should skyrocket.  In his first year with the Grizzlies, Koufos will likely see a huge bump in minutes and production.  So far this season, he has only received 17 minutes a game and has put up 6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.8 blocks a game.  If he can get upwards of 30 minutes, averaging a double-double may not be out of the question.  Tonight should be a great indicator of future value as Koufos faces a Rockets team that likes to give up points.

U: Brandon Bass ($8,482): Coming off a solid 17-point 7-rebound night against Atlanta on Saturday, Bass should have restored his coaches’ confidence in him.  With rookie Kelly Olynyk out with a bum ankle and Jared Sullinger down with the flu, Bass could be in for big minutes against the Bobcats.  In his previous game against Charlotte, he put up only 7 points and 8 rebounds, so look for a nice bump from those numbers and a solid play at a cheap price.

U: Aaron Brooks ($5,790): Even though it was just one game, the main beneficiary of James Harden’s absence was clearly Brooks.  Saturday night against the Timberwolves, Brooks filled Harden’s shoes well as he put in 26 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.  The matchup tonight against the Grizzlies is not as easy as the one was on Saturday, but without Marc Gasol, the Rockets should be able to score.  If Harden is out, Brooks should be a very nice value play.

Best of luck to you with your Monday DraftStreet and Fanduel Daily League Fantasy Basketball selections!
