Sam Nedimyer highlights the top NBA DFS lineup picks for 1/31/16, as well as a couple of sleepers to keep in mind while building your roster on FanDuel.

Congratulations! You have reached the first Sunday in the NBA regular season in which DFS sites are not hosting NFL games as well. Pop open a cold one and tune in to the NBA’s seven game schedule for Sunday. Note: Today’s selections include only the 6:00pm EST games and on.

In this article, I will be providing you with Daily NBA picks for FanDuel for 1/31/16. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays. Be sure to check out my podcast every Monday and Thursday right here at Rotoballer for all your DFS needs.

FanDuel DFS Point Guards

Kemba Walker (at LAL, $8,600)

Certainly there is the possibility that Steph Curry sizzles in front of the New York crowd, but he is really going to cost you if you choose to roster the Baby Faced Assassin. Instead, you can save a little fake money by drafting Walker. Despite going an atrocious 12-for-50 from the field over his last two, Walker has been aggressive in getting to the free throw line. He has taken at least 25 shots in four of his last five games and that sort of ball-hawking usually gets rewarded in the DFS world. He should have no problem slicing up the Lakers and their fifth-worst shooting percentage defense

Deron Williams (vs PHX, $5,500)

After his dud performance against the Knicks on Thursday, the how to beat Archie Goodwin playbook is an open secret. As long as point guards play fast and attack the rim, the third-year veteran out of Kentucky will attempt to match basket for basket and get run out of his element relatively quickly. Williams is the type of guard that can really attack Goodwin and his 109 DRating. Throw his last game out. He was shooting nearly 47% from the field in his previous three, and it also appears his injury woes are a thing of the past.

FanDuel DFS Shooting Guards

Dwyane Wade (vs ATL, $7,800)

Turn back the clock! Flash has indeed shown flashes of dominance that he displayed in the pre-LeBron years. The 34-year-old All Star is averaging 43.2 FanDuel points per game over his last four, playing no less than 32 minutes during that span. With the less than inspiring play being displayed by both Tyler Johnson and Beno Udrih as well, Wade is racking up the assists and playing some point guard. Goran Dragic should be on a minutes restriction if he plays, freeing up Wade to be the only reliable backcourt option for the Heat.

Klay Thompson (at NY, $7,000)

It appears Mr. Thompson is in the middle of one of his patented hot streaks. He has gone 11-for-22 from behind the arc over his last two games, and Thompson typically is a guy that plays in three to four game bursts. The Warriors are massive favorites, but the starters have been getting their minutes in blowouts.

FanDuel DFS Small Forwards

Chandler Parsons (vs PHX, $6,700)

I am not quite ready to reinvest in Carmelo Anthony, but I certainly understand if some fantasy owners want to roster the budding Knick superstar. Instead, I will opt to free up some cap room and roster Parsons, a guy that has been as close to white hot as possible over the last eleven days. Since January 20, Parsons is averaging 24.3 points, 7.5 boards, 2.7 assists, and 0.7 steals in six games. He should have no problem carving up the league’s 26th ranked defensive unit.

Evan Turner (at ORL, $5,300)

Turner has scored double-digit points in six straight games and he is always a guy that will add some extra stats across the line. His minutes appears locked in right now in that crazy Celtic rotation, so he should continue to consistently contribute anywhere from 28-32 FanDuel points. Meanwhile, the Magic are in complete freefall mode and there are no signs of slowing anyone down. Should Boston win in a blowout, Turner is safe to get some extra run in garbage time.

FanDuel DFS Power Forwards

Chris Bosh (at ATL, $7,700)

Most of the other options at this position have some questions, and Bosh is not without his. Primarily will Hassan Whiteside play? Of course that is also a Whiteside question, but if the giant center does miss his fifth straight game, then Bosh becomes the primary interior threat for the Heat. Post-LeBron Bosh continues to thrive with his usage rate this season and January has been an exceptional month for the big man. You would like to see him secure more rebounds, but he has a nice stat line of 22.0/5.7/2.8 over his last six games.

Marvin Williams (at LAL, $5,400)

All season the Hornets have been waiting for the former Tar Heel to break out, and now their patience is finally paying off. Of course it has taken injuries to Cody Zeller and Al Jefferson, but fantasy owners are quite happy with his recent production. Those injuries have really opened the door for Williams, who owns a 115 ORating while averaging 28.8 minutes per game in the month of January. Those are some nice baselines to start with against a team like the Lakers. Arrow up.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Karl-Anthony Towns (at POR, $8,400)

Dude has dropped 47.2, 46.1 and 46.9 FanDuel points in three straight games against Cleveland, Oklahoma City and Utah, respectively. He is so studly that this is the only downside FanDuel could find on the big man: “more assists could help his fantasy value and his team’s play.” Wow. I’ll take his 23/12.5 he is averaging over his last six against whatever Portland is putting up in the front court.
