Juwan Johnson, Hunter Henry, Brenton Strange: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 2

Juwan Johnson - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Should I start Juwan Johnson, Hunter Henry, Brenton Strange for Week 2? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.

Week 2 lineup calls at the tight end position can be complicated, as we witness every season. Unless you drafted one of the elite options, you're probably debating between a guy you hope continues to see volume and a guy who depends on touchdowns to be relevant.

After the opening week, we were able to see the utilization of players, giving us insight into who we should roll with moving forward. Still, managers might have questions about the trustworthiness of certain players, especially mid-tier TE options.

Let's take a glance at three of those tight ends: Juwan Johnson, Hunter Henry, and Brenton Strange. Can we trust these players heading into Week 2?

Should I Start Juwan Johnson for Fantasy Football?

The Saints lost to the Cardinals in Week 1, 20-13, but there was a bright spot in their offense. Juwan Johnson saw heavy usage in the season debut, hauling in 8-of-11 targets for 76 yards.

With Taysom Hill and Foster Moreau both sidelined due to knee injuries, Johnson was able to shine. He logged 99% of the offensive snaps and a 27% target share while finishing as the top tight end scorer in fantasy. In that contest, Johnson tied his career high in receptions while acting as a security blanket for quarterback Spencer Rattler.

Will that utilization bleed into Week 2? New Orleans attempted 46 passes in Week 1, and if this elevated volume continues, Johnson can be a game-changer for fantasy. He won't see double-digit targets in every contest, but he's clearly in a lead role with the Saints.

This week's game against San Francisco will be more difficult than what they saw in Week 1. The 49ers held the Seattle tight ends to two catches for seven yards to start the season. Additionally, they permitted the third-fewest fantasy points to the position.

Johnson is a great waiver add and stash, but managers need to temper expectations and only start him when their options are thin.

Should I Start Hunter Henry for Fantasy Football?

As always, Hunter Henry was a steady veteran presence in Week 1, posting four catches for 66 yards while tying for a team-leading eight targets.

He managed a 17.4% target share and displayed strong chemistry with QB Drake Maye. The pass-heavy offense threw 46 times in their contest with the Raiders.

This week's matchup looks promising for Henry. He'll face the Dolphins, who conceded the sixth-most fantasy points to tight ends in Week 1.

Miami gave up 96 yards on eight catches to the position. Rookie Tyler Warren just became the TE3 against the Dolphins, and Henry has a shot of putting up similar numbers.

With his deep average depth of target (14.6 yards) and a constant role, Henry should be viewed as a confident TE1 streamer in Week 2. He has the safest floor of any tight ends you'll find on waivers.

Should I Start Brenton Strange for Fantasy Football?

Brenton Strange made the most of his opportunities in his 2025 debut. He brought in all four of his targets for 59 yards in Jacksonville's 26-10 win over Carolina.

He participated in 82% of the snaps, posted a 13.8% target share, and managed to lead the team in receiving yardage. Strange is clearly operating as the Jaguars' TE1 with Evan Engram in Denver.

The Bengals, Jacksonville's Week 2 opponent, are a favorable opponent for tight ends. Cincinnati gave up the most receptions to the position last year. They just permitted Cleveland tight ends to catch 10 balls for 100 yards in Week 1.

With Trevor Lawrence spreading the ball to his young receivers, Strange still proved he'll have a steady role in the offense. He won't see elite volume, but he'll be an outstanding streaming option depending on the contest.

Strange is available in many leagues, but he shouldn't be there long. He's a strong streamer in Week 2, and managers should feel comfortable picking him up for their starting lineup.
