Dallas Goedert Fantasy Football Outlook

A forearm injury has kept Goedert sidelined ever since the Eagles' last game against the Cowboys back in Week 9. Philadelphia's subsequent bye week gave them time to prepare for Goedert's absence, and they rolled out a tight end room led by Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra, and Albert Okwuegbunam for Weeks 11 through 13. Of that group, Stoll was the only one to register a reception, catching two passes for 17 yards.

Needless to say, the Eagles' tight end room has been an afterthought without Goedert available.

There is good news for the Eagles and fantasy managers, though. Goedert has logged back-to-back full practices, and he's expected to enter this weekend without an official injury designation. Barring a setback, Goedert will return to the starting tight end role in Week 14.

Should I Start Dallas Goedert in Week 14?

Goedert was quietly dominant when healthy, catching 38 passes for 410 yards and two touchdowns. From Weeks 2 through 9, he ranked as the overall TE6 in PPR leagues. The 28-year-old has never been a huge red zone threat (after all, the Eagles have A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and the rushing game to score touchdowns), but he's still a physical athlete who makes plays happen and fights for extra yards.

As a result, Goedert has significant standalone value in all fantasy formats. He's particularly appealing this Sunday given that bye weeks (Logan Thomas and Trey McBride) and injuries (Mark Andrews, Darren Waller, Luke Musgrave, and Dalton Schultz) have hurt the tight end position.

Goedert should be started in fantasy football for the rest of this season, and he's an appealing mid-range TE1 in fantasy leagues this week. It helps that Dallas' defense, while talented, has struggled against tight ends this season. The unit surrenders 6.8 fantasy points per game to the position, which is the eighth-worst mark in the NFL.
