Wednesday baseball brings us another split slate with a handful of afternoon games but the vast majority of games going off later tonight, which is ideal for betting content! It seemed like there were runs being scored en masse everywhere in the league last night as we had multiple teams in double digits and a few games that finished with football-type scores (four games actually had both teams go over 10 runs each!). I am not sure if that offense keeps up today, but we might be seeing the bats take over at this point in the summer, it's a trend we will certainly want to keep an eye on going forward.

I wanted to write up the Guardians over the Pirates today as Cleveland is just dominating Pittsburgh in every way so far in that series, but that is the earliest game to go off today and I wanted you all to have enough time to get these bets in!
Let's push it back to a late afternoon start in Oakland where the Red Sox are once again pretty heavily favored over the lowly As. Oakland actually shut out the Sox last night behind some really strong pitching from their best starter right now - Luis Medina. But Boston dominated 7-0 on Monday knocking Paul Blackburn around and Nick Pivetta went nuts with 13 strikeouts as the bulk reliever for the Red Sox.
I am very comfortable backing Brayan Bello in this matchup. He's been easily the best starter for Boston this season (yes, that's counting James Paxton, too) and while he might not be a big strikeout pitcher, he's been ultra-consistent

in terms of keeping hitters off base and limiting opposing offenses.
The Boston offense has been excellent, last night being an exception, not the rule. And Ken Waldichuk has had a season to forget thus far. I think Boston stands a great chance of putting up a solid run total here and that Bello can keep the bottom-dwelling Oakland offense at bay.

Betting on the Tigers might feel a little bit like kissing your sister, I get it. But today is a tough card and believe it or not, Detroit rates as one of the best values on the slate largely due to a big pitching mismatch in this one.
E-Rod has been pretty effective in two starts since returning from an injury and continues to put up solid numbers this year for the Tigers. I am well aware that the Royals busted out against Tarik Skubal yesterday, but I try not to let one game here or there affect the bigger picture. The reality is that KC is a bottom-barrel offense and a group that E-Rod can keep in check in this matchup.

On the other side, it's Yarbrough on the bump for the Royals. He's a high-contact pitcher who doesn't miss many bats and relies on ground balls and weak contact. That's a delicate dance to do in the big leagues and there simply isn't really any margin for error against any big league team when you have to pitch that way. Detroit is actually better against Southpaws, too, and can line up Andy Ibanez, Spencer Torkelson, and Javier Baez at the top of their lineup against Yarbs.
