Michael Pittman Jr. Injury Update

UPDATE 9/17: Michael Pittman has officially been ruled out for Week 2.

Michael Pittman Jr. popped up on the injury report Wednesday with a quad injury but was a limited participant. However, the 24-year-old then missed Thursday's practice, potentially suffering a setback. Pittman Jr. then returned to practice Friday, putting in a limited session.

Head coach Frank Reich stated to the press Friday that he's "optimistic Pitt will be fine," meaning Pittman Jr. is on the right side of questionable to suit up for Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars. With Alec Pierce ruled out due to a concussion, Indianapolis is once again short on depth at the position. Monitor any news on Pittman Jr.'s potential workload heading into Sunday.

Mike Evans Injury Update

Mike Evans was limited this past Wednesday in practice with a minor calf injury but was downgraded to a non-participant Thursday, sending up a red flag for fantasy managers. The ninth-year receiver then returned to practice Friday on a limited basis and is officially questionable for Sunday.

Evans looks good to go for Sunday's matchup with the New Orleans Saints and should have a high target share once again. With Chris Godwin (hamstring) ruled out, Evans is a safe WR1 option even in a tough matchup.

Tee Higgins Injury Update

Tee Higgins exited last Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a concussion but is expected to clear the protocol before Sunday. Many became concerned when he missed Thursday's practice entirely, but Ed Warder later reported that he was attending his father's funeral that day.

The third-year receiver was back at practice Friday as a limited participant and is on track to play Sunday. Higgins is a solid WR2 in his matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.

Allen Lazard Injury Update

Allen Lazard missed last week's game against the Minnesota Vikings due to an ankle injury but returned to practice as a limited participant this past week.

Since the Packers play on Sunday night, it would be nice to see a positive update on his status Saturday to know for sure that he will suit up. However, it seems like he has a good chance to do so as of this writing, but monitor reports to see if there is any indication that he will be limited in his regular-season debut.

Julio Jones Injury Update

Julio Jones missed Wednesday and Thursday's practices due to a knee injury but returned Friday as a limited participant. The veteran has struggled to stay healthy the past few seasons, but he will likely pop up on the injury report often as the Buccaneers allow him some rest days.

According to head coach Todd Bowles, it sounds like we will see Jones suit up on Sunday. The 33-year-old looked solid last week, taking three receptions for 69 yards, but he could be tough to trust for fantasy purposes if his knee injury limits him in any capacity.

Michael Gallup Injury Update

Michael Gallup continues to work his way back from a torn ACL injury but has been officially ruled out for Sunday's game against Cincinnati. Reports have been positive from head coach Mike McCarthy, and he participated in his first padded practice this week.

Gallup will likely be without quarterback Dak Prescott when he returns to the team within the next few weeks, making his fantasy value unclear. However, he will provide a much-needed boost to the Cowboys' passing attack when healthy.

Russell Gage Injury Update

Russell Gage missed Wednesday's practice as he continues to nurse a hamstring injury but should suit up this week against the New Orleans Saints after practicing in a limited capacity on Thursday and Friday.

Gage was the clear No. 4 option among the Buccanneers' wide receiver corps last week, but Chris Godwin (hamstring) will miss Sunday's game, opening up a role in the slot for the fifth-year receiver to occupy. He is a risky flex option in a tough matchup against the Saints.

Kadarius Toney Injury Update

Kadarius Toney suffered a setback Thursday with the hamstring injury that limited him during the preseason. The second-year receiver practiced Friday in a limited capacity but is officially questionable for Sunday's matchup against Carolina.

Toney only played 12% of the offensive snaps last Sunday against Tennessee, and with the hamstring injury lingering, he would be a risky fantasy option if he did suit up. The former first-round draft pick should be off the fantasy radar this week.

Rondale Moore Injury Update

Rondale Moore suffered a hamstring injury days before last week's season opener and has missed the entire week of practice this past week. He was officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday.

The second-year receiver does not seem close to returning and is becoming a roster clog on many fantasy rosters. Moore appears to be safe to drop to waivers if he can not put in limited participation in practice next week.

Alec Pierce Injury Update

Alec Pierce started to suffer from concussion-like symptoms after this past Sunday's game against the Houston Texans and was placed into the protocol this past Wednesday. Even after logging limited participation in Thursday and Friday's practices, the rookie was ruled out officially on Friday.

Pierce should be ready to go for the Colts' Week Three matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Indianapolis could be thin on pass-catching talent if teammate Michael Pittman Jr. is ruled out.

Wan'Dale Robinson Injury Update

Wan'Dale Robinson suffered a knee injury during the first half of last week's game against Tennessee and did not return. The rookie could not log any practice time this week and was ruled out officially on Friday.

Robinson drew the start last week for the Giants, so when healthy, he should be in line for a decent target share. However, being unable to return to practice in any capacity this past week means he could miss multiple games, so he is tough to keep on your bench if you need room for another player.

Kyle Philips Injury Update

Kyle Philips landed on the injury report Thursday with a shoulder injury but practiced in a limited capacity Friday. The rookie led the Titans in receptions and targets this past Sunday and was a standout in training camp.

Tennessee plays on Monday night, so we will not have an official injury designation for Philips until Saturday. The rookie is not a viable fantasy option this week, but he is one to monitor if he continues to see a high target share. Philips should be considered questionable for Monday.

KJ Hamler Injury Update

KJ Hamler was able to suit up last week after recovering this offseason from knee and hip surgeries, but missed every practice this past week and is officially out for Sunday's matchup with the Houston Texans.

Head coach Nathaniel Hackett said that Hamler being ruled out was "Part of the maintenance" for him as he continues to recover. The 23-year-old looked like a decent stash with Tim Patrick placed on season-ending IR but is safe to drop in all formats until he is 100% healthy.

Van Jefferson Injury Update

Van Jefferson missed last week's season opener against the Buffalo Bills as he is still recovering from offseason knee surgery. His status has not changed since then, and he has officially been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against Atlanta.

Jefferson is in danger of missing multiple games after this Sunday, so he can safely be dropped if you are stashing him on your bench.

Cedrick Wilson Jr. Injury Update

Cedrick Wilson missed Wednesday's practice with a toe injury but returned to Thursday and Friday's practices as a limited participant.

There is no indication that Wilson is in danger of missing Sunday's matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. If the 26-year-old were to miss the game, it would lead to increased target potential for Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Mike Gesicki.
