FanDuel Picks for Daily Fantasy Football Week 8: DFS Lineup Advice and Sleepers

Let's quick get off fantasy and talk a bit about the Green Bay/Denver game this week. That's going to be a matchup for the ages, right? Whether you're playing fantasy or not, I'm hoping everyone takes the time to watch that game! Now, down the the fantasy portion.

In this article, my FanDuel DFS lineup targets, I will be headlining a few of my top plays on FanDuel for Week 8 of the daily fantasy football season.

These DFS lineup picks can range from the elite tier of players, to a few guys that I feel are a bit overpriced on FanDuel. Let's get to it!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

FanDuel DFS Quarterbacks for Week 8

Philip Rivers - QB, SD (at BAL, $8,500)

Rivers is a bit pricy this week, but that’s mainly because of his matchup. The Ravens have ranked as the worst defense in the NFL against opposing quarterbacks, and Rivers has dominated this season. In seven games, he has thrown the ball 311 times, recording 2,452 yards, 15 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Aside from a rough couple of starts, Rivers has scored 20+ FPs in every game this season. The Ravens have been struggling as a secondary all year, and Rivers will be able to score a plethora of fantasy points if he throws the ball 50+ times again this week.

Ryan Fitzpatrick - QB, NYJ (at OAK, $7,400)

Fitzpatrick has quietly been making his mark as an NFL quarterback this season, scoring 14+ FPs in each of his six starts. He gets a great matchup against the Raiders, who are allowing 303.8 yards per game through the air this season, which ranks dead last in the NFL. Fitzpatrick is coming off his two best games of the season, and the Raiders will be an easier matchup than both the Redskins and Patriots. Keep in mind, Fitzpatrick also can do some damage with his legs, as he has recorded 112 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown this season as well. He’s a fairly cheap option, and he’s extremely safe this week in an easy matchup.

FanDuel DFS Running Backs for Week 8

Todd Gurley - RB, STL (vs SF, $8,100)

Gurley has been nothing short of spectacular over his last three starts, recording 483 total yards and two touchdowns. In those starts, he is averaging 21.1 FP/G, which ranks as the second-most of any running back on the slate, behind only Devonta Freeman. Gurley also has 74 total touches over that span, and he’s the new focal point of the Rams offense. He gets a great matchup against a depleted San Francisco defense that is allowing 113.3 rushing yards per game and ranks 28th in the NFL against running backs. Gurley is nearly guaranteed to touch the ball over 20 times this week, and he’s one of the safer options on the board.

Alfred Blue - RB, HOU (vs TEN, $6,500)

This is purely a GPP play, as the Texans running back situation is extremely cloudy right now. If it becomes a bit clearer before the game, and Blue is the clear-cut starter, he can also be used in cash games. The game before Arian Foster returned, Blue touched the ball 31 times for 139 yards and one touchdown. Foster tore his Achilles last week, and Blue may have the first chance at the starting running back job again. He gets a great matchup against the Titans, who are allowing 129.2 yards per game on the ground this season, which ranks 29th in the NFL. Blue makes a high-upside play because of the situation and matchup, but he shouldn’t be used anywhere outside of tournaments unless he is named the starter prior to the game.

FanDuel DFS Wide Receivers for Week 8

Antonio Brown - WR, PIT (vs CIN, $8,400)

Brown makes a great play this week, as he’s coming off a six-catch, 124-yard game with Landry Jones at quarterback. Ben Roethlisberger may return this week, however, which would put Brown back up with the other elite wide receiver options. If this is the week Big Ben returns, this will be the last week Brown’s price is this low. He gets a decent matchup against an average Bengals secondary, and Brown is essentially matchup-proof with Roethlisberger under center. Keep in mind, before Roethlisberger was injured, Brown recorded 29 catches for 436 yards and two touchdowns in only three games. It’s a situation to monitor before the game starts.

Stefon Diggs - WR, MIN (at CHI, $6,700)

Diggs was a bit of a wildcard last week with the return of Charles Johnson, but he posted a 6-108-1 line, and he’s firmly back on my radar. In three games, Diggs has caught 19 passes for 324 yards and one touchdown. He’s electric with the ball in his hands, and he has the ability to score from anywhere on the field. He has forced the Vikings to play him, and he makes a great fantasy option, as he’s arguably the top receiving option on the Vikings team. He gets a great matchup against Chicago, who ranks 23rd in the NFL against opposing wide receivers. Diggs’ price will likely continue to climb until he has a terrible outing, and that isn’t going to be this week. He makes a great option in all leagues.

FanDuel DFS Tight Ends for Week 8

Greg Olsen - TE, CAR (vs IND, $6,500)

Olsen is the most expensive tight end on the slate, and that has to do more with his upside than his consistency. He has been extremely up and down this season, but he has scored 20+ FPs twice. He gets a great matchup against the Colts, who currently rank 21st in the NFL against tight ends. Olsen is Newton’s favorite target, and the Panthers will most likely work Olsen into the game plan this week. He seems to thrive against teams that struggle against tight ends, and that’s exactly why he’s on the radar this week.

Jeff Cumberland - TE, NYJ (at OAK, $4,600)

The Jets do not feature their tight ends much, and Cumberland is leading the way with only three catches for 26 yards on the season. Yes, those numbers are ridiculous, and make him seem like he has no value any week. Keep in mind, he gets a matchup against the Raiders, who have been historically bad against tight ends this season. There is no guarantee that Cumberland is worked into the offensive game plan this week, but it would be silly to ignore him completely in such a great matchup. He’s purely a GPP salary relief play because of the uncertainty that surrounds him, but he does have loads of upside.
