FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Jon Lester: CHC vs MIA ($8,500)

For the second straight night, the wind will be blowing in at Wrigley. Last night was a rare occurrence where there were 11 runs scored in this usual pitcher-friendly environment. I find it hard to believe that there will be a repeat of this tonight, as Lester takes the mound with his 1.73 ERA in five starts. He is allowing a 37.7% ground ball rate compared to a 32.4% fly ball rate. When the Marlins can get the ball off the ground, the wind should play a factor in putting the ball into the outfielder's hands. The Marlins are also one of the worst teams against left-handed pitchers this season, only managing a .260 wOBA.

Jose Berrios: MIN vs TOR ($10,700)

The Blue Jay's offense has been struggling to string together anything that would make me believe they are a team to shy away from on a slate. They have an abysmal 26.9% Strikeout Rate and a .289 wOBA against right-handed pitching, which would be a lower number if it wasn't for an outlier hot streak in the middle of April. Despite the hot streak, they are still one of the worst hitting teams in baseball against right-handed pitching. Berrios has picked up where he left off last season, sporting a 2.91 era and an 8.94 K/9. I expect a quality start and high strikeout floor for Berrios tonight.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Brandon Belt: 1B, SF at COL ($3,500)

I usually don't like paying up for the salaries that come along with Coors Field games, but I love when I can get a relatively cheap middle of the order bat. Belt has never been a home run hitter, but he comes into this game hitting well against right-handed pitchers. He has a .378 wOBA with a 56% Fly Ball Rate, we all know what can happen when a hitter gets the ball into the air at Coors, and I love Belt's opportunity to hit a home run tonight. Antonio Senzatela has allowed a home run in three of his four starts this year, and we will hope he makes it four of five after this one is over.

Ronny Rodriguez: 2B, DET vs LAA ($3,500)

The opposing pitcher, Griffin Canning, comes into the games with only one career start under his belt. This is too small of a sample size to take into account any of his stats, but for what it's worth he did allow three of his four hits and the only home run to right-handed hitters. In 34 at-bats against right-handed pitchers this season, Rodriguez is raking with a .534 wOBA and a .471 ISO. These numbers are too good to pass up against a guy making his second career start.

Alex Bregman: 3B, HOU vs KC ($4,300)

Bregman has been on fire as of late, putting up five home runs in his last six games. He has struggled so far this season against left-handed pitchers, but his .387 career wOBA and 46.7% Hard Hit Rate this season gives me reasons to believe that he will turn it around soon. Danny Duffy is only making his third start of the season after a shoulder injury sidelined him for the early parts of the season, but he has struggled to get right-handers out in his career. He has allowed a .334 wOBA against righties in his career, and just last season allowed them to hit a whopping 21 home runs against him.

Jorge Polanco: SS, MIN vs TOR ($3,800)

The numbers speak for themselves in today's matchup for Polanco. He is by far the best-looking shortstop on the slate, coming in with a .449 wOBA and .333 ISO against right-handed pitching. Aaron Sanchez has been having a better year than his past couple of seasons, but he showed a couple of dents in the armour in his last start allowing nine hits and four earned runs over four innings. Coupling this with a post-game blowup with the media, and we could be catching Sanchez at a vulnerable time, which should leave Polanco licking his chops to face him.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Jeff McNeil: OF, NYM at SD ($3,000)

I find it hard to believe that you can get a leadoff hitter that is having the type of season that McNeil is, at such a low price. He has a slash line of .343/.412/.461 with a .375 wOBA against right-handed pitchers. He faces a rookie pitcher today in Cal Quantrill, who has only one start under his belt. He did allow all six hits in that start to left-handed hitters, which included four doubles, and a triple. I think McNeil can find the gaps and score some runs in this matchup today if Quantrill's first start is any indication.

Ian Desmond: OF, COL vs SF ($3,200)

Desmond is another middle of the order hitter at Coors Field who we can put in our lineup at a bargain. Madison Bumgarner isn't the pitcher that he once was, as evidenced by righties having a .281/.324/.445 slash line with a .329 woBA. I have no issue choosing right-handed hitters against Bumgarner, especially at Coors Field. Desmond as per usual has excelled against left-handed pitchers this season, boasting a .335 wOBA and .257 ISO.
