NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 10/11/23

 Welcome to day 2 of the NHL season and our first "big" slate, my goal this season for this article is to find you the best plays in the best matchups that the public will not be on, tonight the Oilers are on the slate so the public will race to use McDavid and stack the Oilers PP1,

Tonight we have a 6-game slate and only the poor Blackhawks are playing B2B. I will do my best to guide you through this six-game slate on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:00 p.m. EDT.

DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the news feed and play at your own risk.

Vegas Odds for the Day

Goalies

Connor Hellebuyck - DK $7,5K || FD $8.2K

Opponent - Calgary Flames

Hellebuyck may not have had a great pre-season, but I'm not worried about that. He is one of the best goalies in the league and has just signed a 7-year, $59.5 million contract. In his three starts against the Flames last season, he registered a .924 save percentage and averaged 15.3 fantasy points. The Flames were second in the league on home ice, averaging over 35 shots per game. However, they dropped to the middle of the league in goals and high danger chances. Therefore, the shot volume should be there for Hellebuyck tonight, and I'm guessing he'll be pumped to show the Jets that they made the right investment.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Ullmark (DK $8.5K || FD $8.1K), Korpisalo (DK $7.2K || FD $7.4K)

Centers

Centers

Pavel Zacha - DK $4.5K || FD $5.9K

Opponent - Chicago Blackhawks

This slate is absolutely loaded with studs at all positions so we need to find some value, I am going with Zacha here more than just because he will be facing the Hawks but because he shared the Ice with Pastrnak a lot last season and they were very effective with an XGF/60 of 3,14, they also put up a very good 13.05 HDCF/60(High danger chances for) which if you watched the Hawks against the Pens last night they give up a ton of high danger chances.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Dubois (DK $3.5K || FD $6.1K), Perfetti (DK $3.2K || FD $4K)

Wings

William Nylander - DK $5.9K || FD 7.5$K

Opponent - Montreal Canadians

Nylander ranked 6th among right-wingers in the NHL with an expected goal rate of 3.65 per 60 minutes of play at home, and 10th overall with an actual goal rate of 3.71 per 60 minutes of play. He will be playing against the Habs, a team he faced four times last season, putting 27 shots on goal, including 15 in two home games. However, he only managed to score 3 goals in those 4 games, and his shooting percentage at home was almost 50% lower than his average against other teams. Nylander tends to perform better on home ice. In 47 games last year, he scored 28 goals, had 27 assists, and took 188 shots.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Marchand (DK $6.9K || FD 7.3$K), Boeser (DK $4.4K || FD $4.8K)

Defense

Brent Burns - DK $7.0K || FD 7.0$K

Opponent - Ottawa Senators

311...…that is the total shots Mr.Burns fired at NHL goalies last season which led to 20 goals and 50 assists so no surprise he ranked 5th among NHL D men with an XGF/60 of 3.53, while the Sens should be a better team this season they were among the worst in the NHL last season on the road in scoring chances allowed, expected goals against and high danger chances allowed which Burns happened to rank 9th, what I am interested to see in this game is Carolina uses their point men a ton not just 5V5 but especially on the PP and the Sens allow the point men to fire away on the PK.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Lindholm (DK $4.9K || FD $4.5K), Reilly (DK $5.9K || FD $6.1K)
