Happy Saturday RotoBallers, and happy baseball season! This is John Brubaker dropping some of my favorite plays for today's slate! I'm so excited that MLB DFS back, and here's a chance to start the season off on the right foot! We have a decent slate tonight, with eight games on tap. Let's get right to it!
We don't have any slate differences today, which is always a good thing. That way I don't have to make selections that may be on one slate and not the other. I have big ideas for this slate, so let's get right to it. I want to note, my writeups will get a bit more detailed as the season goes on, as I'm still making adjustments to my projection model this early on in the season.
This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/6/2023 and the slate locking at 7:05 pm ET. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all of that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Spencer Strider, ATL vs BAL ($11,500 DK, $11,400 FD)
I'll start tonight's slate off with Spencer Strider. Strider (4-0, 2.57 ERA) is coming off of a rough start against the Mets, where he got the win despite allowing four earned runs in five innings. He gets a bounce-back opportunity against a tough Orioles lineup, but my model favors backing him tonight. He projects to a 2.30 xFIP and 38.59% strikeout rate tonight, proving himself as the clear top option on the slate.
Brady Singer, KC vs OAK ($7,000 DK, $7,500 FD)
If you're looking to go cheap on FanDuel, or looking for an SP2 on DraftKings, look no further than Brady Singer. Singer (2-3, 8.49 ERA) has clearly not had a hot start to the season. His most recent start last Sunday did not go too well for him, allowing eight earned runs in just 2.2 innings against the Twins. Fortunately for Singer, he gets a matchup against the Vegas, I mean, Oakland A's, who he projects to a 3.30 xFIP and 24.84% strikeout rate today.
Also consider: Dustin May, Nathan Eovaldi

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Matt Olson - 1B, ATL vs. Kyle Bradish ($5,500 DK, $4,100 FD)
I'll take a look at Matt Olson to start things off on the hitter side of things. Olson comes into this one hitting .244 with nine home runs, a .381 wOBA, and a wRC+ of 138. He projects to a .334 wOBA and 45.01% hard contact rate tonight, and as long as he puts the bat on the ball, I expect good things to happen. He hasn't faced Bradish yet in this point in his career, so he'll look to start things off with a bang today.
Marcus Semien - 2B, TEX vs. Reid Detmers ($5,700 DK, $3,800 FD)
I'll take a look at Marcus Semien next. Semien is hitting .277 with five homers, a .359 wOBA, and 130 wRC+ in this one. He sees a familiar face in Reid Detmers tonight. Semien is 4-11 with a triple and two walks against the southpaw for his career. He projects to a .364 wOBA and a 32.41% hard contact rate tonight.
Emmanuel Rivera - 1B/3B, ARI vs. MacKenzie Gore ($3,000 DK, $2,600 FD)
I'll wrap things up with the infielders this evening with Arizona's Emmanuel Rivera. Rivera hasn't played a ton of games in 2023, but is hitting .409 with two doubles early on in the year. This also includes a .409 wOBA and 156 wRC+. While this may conflate his projections tonight slightly, the projected .508 wOBA and 32.21% hard contact rate shows him to be a solid value option on both sites.
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Bryce Harper - OF, PHI vs. Corey Kluber ($5,600 DK, $3,700 FD)
As far as outfielders go, I have to start with Bryce Harper. After going 3-3 with two walks in his second game of the season on Wednesday, Harper went just 1-4 with a single Friday evening. It's worth noting he didn't have the platoon advantage in that one, facing Chris Sale and company, he'll look to bounce back against Corey Kluber. Harper projects to a .431 wOBA and 42.2% hard contact rate tonight, a guy who he (surprisingly) hasn't faced yet in his decade-long career.
LaMonte Wade Jr. - 1B/OF, SF vs. Colin Rea ($3,100 DK, $3,000 FD)
I'll take a deep look at LaMonte Wade Jr. and the Giants against Colin Rea tonight. Wade comes into tonight's matchup against the Brewers hitting .256 with six homers, a wOBA of .430, and a wRC+ of 173. He's off to a heater of a start and will look to continue riding that momentum into tonight's matchup. Wade projects to a .391 wOBA and 38.71% hard contact rate against the 32-year-old righty.
Rob Refsnyder - OF, BOS vs. Bailey Falter ($3,000 DK, $2,400 FD)
I'll wrap things up with Rob Refsnyder. Refsnyder is coming into this game hitting just .224 with one homer, a .311 wOBA, and 91 wRC+. Nothing here jumps off the page, but he should hit third in a Red Sox lineup that takes on a struggling Bailey Falter. Teams have been starting to pick Falter up well, and the Red Sox lineup has been scorching hot. With that said, Refsnyder looks to be right in the middle of it, projecting to a .322 wOBA and 35% hard contact rate against the lefty.
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
Atlanta Braves vs. Kyle Bradish
As far as stacks go, I'll look to the Braves to start things off. It's just the beginning of May, but the Braves are seemingly running away with the National League. They rank seventh in wOBA (.334) and eighth in wRC+ (105) against righties and will look to take advantage of Kyle Bradish who comes into this one projected to allow a 34.4% hard contact rate, as well as a 4.01 xFIP.
Favorite Plays: Ronald Acuna, Matt Olson, Sean Murphy, Eddie Rosario, Ozzie Albies
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Blake Snell
I'll wrap this slate up with the Los Angeles Dodgers against Blake Snell. Snell threw his first quality start of the season against the Reds on Monday night, allowing three earned runs on eight hits. He's struggled otherwise early this season, and while he has pitched well against the Dodgers in his first nine career starts against LA (1-1, 2.50 ERA), my model projects the Dodgers get the best of him tonight, as they come into this one projected to a 36.7% hard contact rate against him.
Favorite Plays: Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith, Chris Taylor
Also Consider: Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers
