DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (5/18/16): MLB DFS Advice

Now heavily into the swing of the season, and the Daily Fantasy season, it's been difficult to stay away from choosing the same guys on a nightly basis. And, you really shouldn't considering how streaky of a sport baseball is.

Team's like the Chicago Cubs, Washington Nationals, and Detroit Tigers have been fun to stack, as the majority of their lineups are capable of going yard consistently.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/18/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

San Diego Padres versus Johnny Cueto

This one is certainly confusing considering how well Cueto has been pitching this season. But several different Padres have had success against him in their career. Matt Kemp has taken Cueto deep twice. Alexei Ramirez is batting .649 over 14 AB against Cueto. Jon Jay, a very affordable DFS option, has quite possibly been the most productive, with the most experience. Also consider Brett Wallace.

Detroit Tigers versus Ricky Nolasco

Consistently, the Tigers have been my favorite team to stack. Especially when they have faired well against their opposing pitcher. Victor Martinez is already putting together another impressive month while he's batting .500 against Nolasco in 14 career AB. Nick Castellanos only has three career hits against Nolasco, although two of which have left the yard. Also consider Ian Kinsler and Cameron Maybin, who recently returned from injury.

Also consider Pittsburgh Pirates versus Julio Teheran

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Francisco Liriano (vs ATL, $10,400)

Liriano is facing a team in complete disarray. Recently firing their manager, the Braves have been lost this season. Liriano has struggled at times in 2016, but has been a steady strikeout threat and should have no problem shutting down Atlanta. The Braves have scored the fewest runs in the league so far.

John Lackey (at MIL, $10,900)

Lackey is coming off an undeserved loss in his last start, allowing only one run in eight innings of work. He has struck out 18 batters over his last two appearances. Despite a poor showing by Chicago's offense in his last start, Lackey has the National League's best offense backing him up.

Also consider Justin Verlander (vs MIN, $9,500)

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Buster Posey (at SD, $3,800)

Posey has five hits in eight AB against Drew Pomeranz. Pomeranz has been impressive of late, but Posey has taken him deep twice, with three ribbies. He's the top catcher option on the night.

Also consider Francisco Cervelli (vs ATL, $2,800)

First Base (1B)

Victor Martinez (vs MIN, $3,600)

We already discussed that Martinez is a wise choice tonight in the stacks section. He's faired undoubtedly well against Ricky Nolasco, and is batting .351 in May. After a disappointing and abbreviated 2015 campaign, Martinez  continues his red hot start. He's a no-brainer. Just look at his price tag.

Second Base (2B)

Ian Kinsler (vs MIN, $5,000)

This is largely based on the way Kinsler's been swinging the bat lately. It also helps that he's 7-20 with four ribbies and three doubles against Nolasco.

Shortstop (SS)

Alexei Ramirez (vs SF, $2,500)

When you're batting close to .700 against an opposing pitcher, it's hard not to take notice. Ramirez is exceptionally affordable and will help free up a ton of cap space. Ramirez has not gone deep this season yet but he has stolen four bases.

Third Base (3B)

Nick Castellanos (vs MIN, $3,700)

As mentioned above, Castellanos hasn't faired too well against Ricky Nolasco. But considering how important home runs are to Daily Fantasy, he is a solid part to the Detroit stack. His early production is hard to ignore, eight homers and 30 ribbies, and he should be considered every time he takes the field for his price.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Matt Kemp (vs SF, $3,300)

It's surprising how low Kemp's price is considering his production so far this season. His nine homers and 28 ribbies are very appealing for Daily Fantasy. He should be considered on a nightly basis, especially when he's had success against that night's opposing pitcher.

Jon Jay (vs SF, $2,800)

Jay is batting .394 in 33 AB with three homers and seven ribbies against Cueto.

Andrew McCutchen (vs ATL, $4,200)

McCutchen has five career hits in 12 AB versus Julio Teheran, with two long balls and four runs batted in.

Also consider Cameron Maybin (vs MIN, $3,400)
