DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (4/28/16): MLB DFS Advice

Tom Bellucco's analysis and advice for the top MLB DFS lineup picks on DraftKings for 4/28/16, as well as a couple of sleepers to keep in mind while building your daily fantasy baseball rosters.

Hey guys! Happy Thursday. I'm assuming no one will be playing an all-day slate, so I'll try to give you an option or two from both the early and the late slates for each position.

In the early slate I like two pitchers and a whole lot of hitters. There are three obvious stacks, and I'm not even sure which one will be highest owned. On the late slate we have a pretty risky pitching pool and not a whole lot to stack. I prefer the early slate for sure, but both are still very playable. Have fun!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 4/28/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Chicago Cubs vs. Zach Davies NOTE: Brewers will pitch T. Jungmann. No notable change in stack.

I’d be OK with a Cubs stack most nights. So the fact that they get the young Zach Davies who holds a 9.72 ERA on the season gets me extra excited. You really can’t go wrong here, but I love the Dexter Fowler, Jason Heyward, and Anthony Rizzo lefty combination. The best part is that it may go under-owned with a Coors Field matchup on the same slate.

Boston Red Sox vs. Jhoulys Chacin

Since getting off to a nice start, Chacin has let up three earned runs in each of his last two outings. The Red Sox order, as we saw Tuesday night, can rattle off 10 runs at a moment’s notice. I probably won’t be stacking much in the late slate, but if I do I will likely have some Sox. Mookie Betts and Travis Shaw seem to be solid foundations, as they are hitting the ball well lately. David Ortiz and Jackie Bradley seem like a nice way to round out a would-be Boston stack.

Also Consider: Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Tyler Chatwood, Colorado Rockies vs. Juan Nicasio

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Jake Arrieta, CHC vs. MIL - $13,600

Arrieta is a stud, and the Brewers are a high strikeout team. As you can guess from my stack above, the Cubs should give him a ton of run support. This is the easy cash game pick of the early slate on Thursday.

Aaron Nola, PHI at WAS - $8,600

As Vince Velasquez showed us on Tuesday, a good pitcher can get through the Nationals lineup relatively unscathed as long as you avoid Bryce Harper. A boneheaded play by Maikel Franco led to three runs for Velasquez instead of one, but he was still effective and earned a win. Nola has a similar potential to that of his teammate, and he can be very effective with a low WHIP and a handful of strikeouts. If he pitches Harper like Velasquez did, expect a very similar outing from Nola.

Kenta Maeda, LOS vs. MIA - $10,00

My thoughts on Maeda are very similar to that of Nolas, but you can replace Harper with Giancarlo Stanton. As long as Maeda can pitch around the monster in the middle of the Marlins' lineup, he should be all right. Jose Fernandez is pitching for Miami, and he's been the opposite of safe so far this year. I'll be avoiding JoFer until further notice, as mistakes against the Dodgers usually don't end well for pitchers.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Jarrod Saltalamacchia, DET vs. OAK - $3,500

The backup catcher for the Tigers is officially playing for his job with James McCann starting rehab. He's been hitting for power well against RHP, and that's what he gets in Chris Bassitt Thursday. Cheap option with power at catcher.

Yadier Molina, STL @ ARI, - $3,700

Yadi has rebounded well from his injury-plagued 2015 season. The best part? His OBP is through the roof right now. Molina is regularly getting a hit and a walk with an RBI and a run scored. That should be his floor against Rubby De La Rosa on Thursday.

First Base (1B)

Anthony Rizzo, CHC vs. MIL - $4900

Rizzo might be my favorite hitter (not considering price) of the day. He gets either Davies or Taylor Jungmann, and he should be able to take either one yard at least once. The Cubs should score a boat load of runs, and Rizzo should be involved in many of them.

Brandon Moss, STL at ARI - $3,700

Moss has been homering at will lately, and Rubby De La Rosa provides no reason to stop. His price is fair for a powerful first baseman in the middle of a potent lineup. He's no Rizzo, but Moss has big upside.

Second Base (2B)

Jed Lowrie, OAK at DET - $2,800

You gotta get the expensive bats in somehow, and Lowrie provides upside at a cheap costs. He's been fairly effective in the middle of the A's lineup, and won't kill you at this price.

Brett Lawrie, CWS at BAL - $4,100

Lawrie is getting expensive due to his big role on a successful White Sox team. His price will provide low ownership, so go here in a tournament if you want to differentiate while maintaining upside.

Shortstop (SS)

Jordy Mercer, PIT at COL - $3,900

Here's another high price that will cause low ownership. The split isn't right, but Mercer has been crushing everything lately. He'll still get RBI chances and it's Coors exposure with low ownership. GPP play only.

Aldemys Diaz, STL at ARI - $3,600

Diaz' price still isn't high enough for his recent hot streak. He's crushing both RHP and LHP, and the Cardinals are providing him both RBI and runs. You can't go wrong here.

Third Base (3B)

Nolan Arenado, COL vs. PIT - $5,300

If you have the money, pay up for Arendao. No ownership level will drive me away from his upside tonight. He's number 2 behind Rizzo in my book.

Travis Shaw, BOS vs. ATL - $3,700

Shaw has had a big part in Boston's recent success, and it's kinda sustainable production. He's going to make a lot of contact with a little power thrown in. His price will almost surely go up soon.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Starling Marte, PIT at COL - $5,200

Mookie Betts, BOS vs. ATL - $5,200

These are the two stud outfielders I like on each slate. If you have enough money to grab one, they are both primed for great production on Thursday.

Khris Davis, OAK at DET - $3,100

Davis is slowly starting to turn around his powerless start to the season. He's also in the middle of a surprisingly productive A's lineup. He might strikeout four times, but he also might homer with a handful of RBI.

David Peralta, STL at ARI - $3,600

Peralta has been quiet lately, but he's still the righty-masher we have come to know and love. The price is at a very exploitable point right now, so if you can't fit in an expensive guy I like Peralta's upside in the middle tier.
