BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 49% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: It's been a disappointing season for the Texans running game, in large part because second-year running back Dameon Pierce has struggled this season. Pierce has been held under 40 yards in four of his seven games so far.
Pierce has been sidelined by injury for the past two games though, handing the top running back role for the Texans to former Buffalo Bills running back Devin Singletary.
In his first game in that role, Singletary had 13 carries for 26 yards, continuing the run-game struggles for the Texans. Then came the team's Week 10 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Cincy just had no answer for Singletary, who had 30 carries for 150 yards and a touchdown in the team's 30-27 victory. He also caught one pass for 11 yards. It was really the first time this rushing attack looked formidable.
So, what's next? After a showing like he had on Sunday, the Texans surely can't just go back to Pierce once he's healthy, right? That's not to say Singletary will have 30 carries again, but at worst, it seems like this would be an evenly split backfield now, with Singletary potentially ahead of Pierce if offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik rides the hot hand.
Singletary's production this past week makes him worth adding in 12-team leagues. Fantasy managers just have to hope Houston doesn't decide to go back to the formula that wasn't working of using Pierce as the clear lead back.
