Derrick Henry's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 17 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit Derrick Henry for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Sit in shallow leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: Low-end RB2
ANALYSIS: It feels weird recommending Derrick Henry as a sit, but here we are. If you're in a deeper league it might be more difficult to sit the king with many viable RBs on other rosters. But in shallower leagues, you may have some better options in Week 17.
The Texans allow the 4th-fewest rushing yards per game to opposing running backs. Just two weeks ago, they held Henry to a season-low nine rushing yards on 16 attempts. The Texans are also favored this week, which could lead to a negative game script in which Henry plays fewer snaps and gives way to Tyjae Spears.
Despite scoring seven rushing touchdowns in his last five games, Henry has played on fewer than 50% of the snaps in three of those five games. Additionally, his most productive games came in favorable matchups against the Panthers, Colts, and Seahawks.
Even though it might feel weird, consider sitting Henry in Week 17 against the Texans in favor of guys like Zamir White, Chuba Hubbard, and Devin Singletary.
