CeeDee Lamb Injury Report: Is Lamb Playing in Week 4 for Fantasy Football?

CeeDee Lamb - Fantasy Football Rankings, DFS and Betting Picks, NFL Injury News

Will CeeDee Lamb play in Week 4 for fantasy football? Is CeeDee Lamb injured or hurt heading into Week 4 of 2025? Read the latest CeeDee Lamb injury report.

Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was universally a top-five pick in fantasy drafts this offseason thanks to his role as the WR1 in the Cowboys’ passing attack. There was hope that he could finish as the WR1 overall in fantasy, given his talent and offensive environment.

Those hopes took a significant hit in Week 3 when Lamb suffered an ankle injury that will keep him off the field for several weeks.

How long will Lamb be out? How does this injury impact his fantasy outlook for the rest of the season? Read below to find out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

CeeDee Lamb Fantasy Football Injury Update

Lamb was well on his way to paying off his WR2 price tag in drafts this summer. Through two weeks, Lamb had caught 16 of 24 targets for 222 yards. The veteran receiver was able to score 19.1 PPR points per game, good for WR10, without finding the end zone. He was one of three players (Puka Nacua and Jaxon Smith-Njigba) to post at least 18.0 fantasy points in Week 1 and Week 2.

Things were set up for him to have another big week in Week 3 against a Bears defense missing their top cornerback. Unfortunately, Lamb suffered a severe ankle injury on a handoff attempt in the first quarter of the game. He tried to get his ankle taped up, but it lasted just one route before shutting it down for the day. He finished with zero targets and 0.0 fantasy points.

After the game, it was determined that Lamb had suffered a dreaded high ankle sprain. The belief is that Lamb will miss at least two weeks with the injury, although the belief is that Lamb could be out anywhere from four to six weeks. Owner Jerry Jones acknowledged that Lamb could still find his way onto the injured reserve.

Is CeeDee Lamb Playing in Week 4?

At the very least, Lamb’s injury will keep him off the field in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers. Fantasy managers who drafted Lamb will likely need to prepare to be without him beyond that as well. Not only do high ankle sprains require time to recover, but they also historically limit players for weeks after their return to the field.

CeeDee Lamb Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy managers need to assume the worst with Lamb’s high ankle sprain and prioritize waiver wire options who can have multi-week appeal going forward. It would not be surprising to see the Cowboys patiently bring Lamb back into the fold, giving him as much time as the team can afford to let him heal completely.

The Cowboys’ passing attack will now flow through George Pickens and Jake Ferguson for the foreseeable future. They will also need players like KaVontae Turpin, Jalen Tolbert, and Ryan Flournoy to step up in Lamb’s absence.

The good news for fantasy managers is that Lamb will return in 2025. Unfortunately, we don’t know how effective he will be coming back from an injury that historically saps the explosiveness of players well beyond their return to play timelines.

Lamb will still get enough volume in Dallas’s heavy pass offense to get there in fantasy, but the explosive plays down the field may take more time to return.
