Carson Steele is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for running backs. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 4 of the 2024 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 70% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Carson Steele, the undrafted rookie, has been tasked to step in for the injured Isiah Pacheco (broken fibula), who will be out for an extended period of time. In his first career start in Week 3, Steele tallied up 17 carries, 72 rushing yards, one reception, and two receiving yards, which was good for 8.4 fantasy points (PPR).

It is worth noting that despite his low fantasy points total, Steele did not play poorly. Since it was his first career start, and he only had nine rushing attempts before that game, he was limited to only 62% of the team’s offensive snaps.
As the weeks go on and Steele gets more comfortable and durable, expect his total snaps to increase, which should lead to an increase in his other statistics. The Kansas City Chiefs score many touchdowns and are led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who loves to throw the ball to his running backs. Rostering their starting running back would be desirable for most fantasy managers out there.
Steele still has much to prove but has been put in an ideal situation. His availability is rapidly shrinking, so fantasy managers needing a third or fourth running back should target Steele on waivers as soon as possible.
