Brock Holt, whose name sounds like something out of a Wild West movie, isn't going to be a superstar. The nearly 28-year-old will be a very good player who can handle enough positions to allow manager John Farrell to give him around 500 plate appearances a year. He'll hit for a modest .280 average and show enough speed on the bases to keep opposing pitchers honest. Holt also has doubles power, garnering around 20 each season. He can back up anyone in the lineup except at DH, left field and catcher. Definitely don't make him a high pick in your draft. Two of our writers liked him enough to put him in the bottom part of their Top 300, with one at No. 269 and the other at No. 292. The other one eschewed him entirely. One good thing is that he can slot in both infield and outfield. Pick him late and be ready to use him anywhere if he stays healthy.
