Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller

5043 articles

You won't find a bigger Cubs fan than myself. Aside from my love of fantasy sports, which includes MLB, NFL and NBA, I own my own animal care business. I graduated from Columbia College in Chicago and currently reside in Chicago, IL. My love of fantasy sports started for me in the early 2000's and I have steadily been active with the same group of friends year in and year out for every league in baseball, basketball and football. I am hoping to help all RotoBaller members with any questions they may have. I consider myself an expert with minor league prospects, as it is a love of mine. I hope to give the best advice I can to the RotoBaller world!

Javier Baez Is Starting To Heat Up

Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez went 2-for-5 with a run scored on Tuesday versus the Cleveland Indians. Baez has really struggled to start the 2020 campaign, but has now hit safely in three straight games and is 5-for-11 with two RBI over that span. Baez has shown that he’s capable of being of the best […]

Willson Contreras Continues To Hit

Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras went 1-for-4 with a RBI on Tuesday against the Cleveland Indians. Contreras has been the Cubs most consistent hitter this season and now has seven RBI to go along with a solid .311 batting average. Contreras remains one of the best catchers in all of baseball and fantasy leagues. He […]

Jason Heyward Responds To Being Demoted In Batting Order

Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward responded to being moved down in the order on Tuesday versus the Cleveland Indians. Heyward went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. Heyward is still just hitting .244 on the season and most of his value comes on the defensive side. Despite the strong game, Heyward should be […]

Jose Abreu Hits A Pair Of Doubles

Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and two RBI on Tuesday versus the Tigers. After exiting Monday’s game with a sore hip, Abreu was a question mark heading into to Tuesday’s game. The hip didn’t seem to both the slugger and he is now […]

End Of A Slump? Eloy Jimenez Goes Yard

Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run on Tuesday versus the Tigers. Jimenez is one of the most hyped youngsters in the game, but has struggled early on with both his offense and defense. Jimenez is only hitting .233 with four home runs and 12 RBI, but owners should […]

Gio Gonzalez Allows Two Runs

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez went 4 2/3 innings and allowed six hits, two runs and one walk. He also recorded two strikeouts on the evening versus the Detroit Tigers. With Michael Kopech opting out of the season and Carlos Rodon (shoulder) and Reynaldo Lopez (shoulder) sidelined, the Sox are counting on Gonzalez […]

Leury Garcia Placed On Injured List

Chicago White Sox infielder/outfielder Leury Garcia (thumb) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a sprained left thumb. Garcia reminded baseball fans why you don’t slide into first base and that’s how he suffered the injury Monday night. With Nick Madrigal (shoulder) sidelined and Garcia performing well, it’s a bad time for him […]

Edwin Encarnacion Returns To Lineup Tuesday

Chicago White Sox designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion (shoulder) has returned to the lineup on Tuesday versus the Tigers. The slugger was sidelined for six games with joint inflammation in left shoulder. Encarnacion had been off to a slow start, but he’s the type of hitter that can get hot in a hurry. Encarnacion should be […]

Tim Anderson Returns From Injured List

Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (groin) has been activated from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. Anderson was sidelined with a groin strain and missed the minimum amount of games. Anderson will return to the number one spot in the order versus the Tigers and should be owned in all formats for his power […]

Ian Happ Moves Up In Batting Order

Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ has moved up in the order to the number six spot on Tuesday versus the Indians. Manager David Ross earlier in the day commented on how Happ has really improved since his stint in Triple-A last year and that Happ is the club’s centerfielder. Happ has been hitting the ball […]

Danny Mendick Picks Up Three Hits

Chicago White Sox infielder Danny Mendick went 3-for-4 with a triple on Monday versus the Detroit Tigers. Mendick has hit a respectable .303 in limited action this year and is now the everyday second baseman with Nick Madrigal (shoulder) sidelined. Mendick isn’t likely to have long term value and is best suited in DFS.

Dallas Keuchel Suffers Loss In Quality Start

Chicago White Sox pitcher Dallas Keuchel recorded a quality start on Monday, but suffered his second loss in the process. Over six inning against the Tigers, Keuchel allowed six hits, three runs, two walks and had four strikeouts. The veteran lefty is now 2-2 with his new squad and will look for his third victory […]

Carlos Rodon Could Return In A Few Weeks

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Carlos Rodon’s (shoulder) preliminary scans on his left shoulder came back negative. It’s good news for Rodon who left Monday’s start after two innings and has a long list of injuries. The White Sox remain optimistic that Rodon can return in a few weeks, but fantasy owners can leave him […]

Tim Anderson Will Head To Alternative Training Site

Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (groin) will head to the teams alternative training site and is could rejoin the club next week. Brewers Give Slumping Christian Yelich The Night Off

The Milwaukee Brewers will give struggling outfielder Christian Yelich the day off on Wednesday versus the White Sox. The former National League MVP has been off to an abysmal start to the 2020 season. The outfielder has just three hits in 34 at-bats with one home run and three RBI. Mark Mathias will replace Yelich […]

Mookie Betts Remains Out

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts (finger) remains out of the lineup on Wednesday. Betts has been dealing with swelling in his finger and has been sidelined since exiting Sunday’s game. Betts was expected to return Wednesday, but the Dodgers will give him another day off with an off day on Thursday. Betts could return […]

Nick Madrigal Sent To Injured List

Chicago White Sox second baseman Nick Madrigal (shoulder) has been placed on the injured list with a separated left shoulder. Madrigal suffered the injury on Tuesday after sliding into third base. It’s a shame as the second base prospect finally got promoted and was going to start regularly. General Manager Rick Hahn was optimistic that […]

Edwin Encarnacion Out Of Wednesday's Lineup

Chicago White Sox designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion (shoulder) will be absent from Wednesday’s lineup. Encarnacion exited Tuesday’s contest with left shoulder soreness. Encarnacion has only six hits in 30 at-bats for the season and a shoulder injury is unlikely to help. Catcher Yasmani Grandal will be the designated hitter on Wednesday and James McCann will […]

Rafael Montero Close To Returning

Texas Rangers relief pitcher Rafael Montero (elbow) threw an inning on Wednesday and the Rangers alternative site. Montero has been sidelined with elbow tendinitis, but appears to be on track to join the club at some point this weekend. With the Rangers losing Jose Leclerc (shoulder), Montero could find himself in the closer role. Montero […]

Brendan McKay Throws Simulated Game

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Brendan McKay (COVID-19) threw two innings in a simulated game Wednesday. McKay has been on the COVID-19 injured list and has not appeared in a game this season. The lefty had some impressive starts to start his career in 2019, but began getting hit hard as his season went on. McKay […]

Manager Derek Shelton said on Tuesday that Kela would close once he’s activated, but there is currently no timetable for his return. Kela had a 2.12 ERA in 29 2/3 innings for the Pirates in 2019 and owners looking for saves should be […]

Roberto Perez Will Throw And Hit Wednesday

Cleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez (shoulder) will do light throwing and hitting activities on Wednesday. Perez has been on the 10-day injured list with a sore right shoulder, but it sounds like his stint on the injured list won’t go past 10 days. Catchers Sandy Leon and Beau Taylor will continue to get looks behind […]

Delino DeShields Close To Returning

Cleveland Indians outfielder Delino DeShields (undisclosed) is expected to rejoin the team in the next day or two. Robinson Cano Lands On Injured List

The New York Mets have placed second baseman Robinson Cano (groin) on the injured list with a Grade 2 left adductor strain. Cano was injured in Monday’s contest against the Braves and his loss will leave a big hole in the Mets lineup. Cano was off to a nice start in 2020 and with a […]

Amed Rosario Remains Sidelined With Quad Injury

New York Mets shortstop Amed Rosario (quad) is absent from Tuesday’s contest versus the Washington Nationals. Rosario was lifted in Monday’s contest after he injured his quad when he was running out of the batter’s box. Rosario underwent a MRI on Tuesday and more should be known on when he will return after those results. […]

Jeff McNeil Will Remain Out On Tuesday
