We did it, folks. We made it to the final series of the baseball season. The 2024 World Series will be a bi-coastal battle between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Two teams with very different rosters from top to bottom, but noticeably in the bullpens as well. The Dodgers had some […]

We're officially down to four teams left, internet friends! One of the Dodgers, Mets, Guardians, or Yankees will be the 2024 World Series champions (and all of those teams are set up for another good season next year, too). We've already seen some fantastic bullpen performances in these playoffs but also some surprising blow-ups. Three […]

We've all made it through the first week of the playoffs! Well ... we've all made it (online) through the first week of the playoffs. There are a few real-life baseball teams that can't say the same thing we can. Spooky season always brings great baseball with it, and this past week had plenty of […]

Congrats to all of you who won, placed, showed, or even just had fun in your fantasy leagues this season! We hope we were able to help you get the best out of your lineups from draft day until the last time you set your lineups. It was another very interesting season of baseball, for […]

Here we are, internet friends: the last weekend of the regular season (plus a doubleheader on Monday). We've made it through the year and most leagues are already done and figuring out who never ended up paying dues. Wait, how much was it for first place again? This week was an interesting and exciting one, as […]

We're almost there, folks. Fantasy teams are deep in their playoffs (some leagues are already done!) and real teams are starting to plan for the real playoffs. We had two teams clinch their spot in the postseason this week, and several others are almost there with them. This week, we saw a little switch in […]

Sometimes, you make the playoffs in your home fantasy baseball league every season since its inception 17 years ago. Other times, you make it 16 years in a row and then actually miss the playoffs the 17th year by two games in the standings. I wonder how that feels, I'm asking for a friend... This […]

More and more fantasy baseball leagues are getting deeper and deeper into their playoffs, which unfortunately also means fewer and fewer fantasy managers still have all that hope that ran rampant in the spring. But still, those who are still alive in their leagues are alive in their leagues, and every little thing matters! This […]

Imagine thinking the Jim Mora "PLAYOFFS?" meme is still original in 2024 ... anyway, PLAYOFFS? We're talking about playoffs because some fantasy baseball leagues have already started, and most are at least getting close. Today's article will hopefully help those of you who made it or are trying to! The thing about fantasy baseball is […]

More and more teams, both in real baseball and fantasy baseball, are starting to recognize that this could be their year, while plenty more are starting to see that it's probably not. We're at the point in the season where every save counts, every hold counts, and even every strikeout could be a game-changer. This week […]

Another week closer to the real baseball playoffs means another week even closer to the fantasy playoffs. Much like things are starting to take shape around MLB, and most fantasy leagues have weeded out their contenders and their pretenders (RIP to The Atrocities, my team that had made the playoffs 11 seasons in a row and […]

So now there's a little room between us and the trade deadline. The dust has started to settle and even the playoff race has started to change a bit, with some teams making moves in one direction while others go in the opposite. As things settled post-deadline, we saw some bullpens reformed, some new closers […]

Well, folks, that was a wild one. The trade deadline came and went, but it certainly made its presence known. There weren't as many *huge* trades as in some other years, and it seemed like there were fewer last-minute deals, but it was still an exciting baseball holiday and it still is sure to make […]

The All-Star Game is such old news, we're all talking about the trade deadline now! It was another intriguing week of baseball and bullpens across the league held part of that intrigue. The trade deadline is in just a few days (Tuesday, July 30!) and while we haven't seen or heard too much buzzing yet, […]

Not a lot of baseball to talk about this week (the All-Star Game was fun but like...there aren't too many fantasy leagues where it counts.) The second half is coming, and that means the trade deadline is getting closer and closer. If it feels like the first half was more than half, that's because it definitely […]

Next week: All-Star Game. Soon after: trade deadline. All the baseball holidays are coming at us fast, and fantasy baseball leagues are figuring out who is competing this year and who is just along for the ride. As always, bullpens have played a huge role not just in "real" baseball, but also in the fun […]

We all know we're a couple of weeks past the official start of summer, but nothing feels more "hey it's summer" than Fourth of July. There's a lot of important baseball coming up until a much needed All-Star break soon, with teams on the cusp of contention needing to figure out what to do at […]

It would be fun if MLB found a way to make All-Star Game fan voting work for pitchers, too. They would probably make it some unnecessarily complicated method, but I think we'd be willing to deal with it to see it happen. It would likely be even more unnecessarily complicated to have it work for […]

There goes another week and we're closer to the All Star Game and closer to the trade deadline. With so many teams in striking distance of a Wild Card spot, this should be an interesting deadline. If standings stay similar to how they are now, we could see only a handful of teams legitimately selling, which […]

Another week in the rearview is another week closer to the official start of summer, which is another week closer to the All-Star Game, which is another week closer to the trade deadline. We're flying through the 2024 baseball season, folks, and it's been...a carnival ride of some sort, depending on your team. This week, an […]

Who needs a summer solstice? All-Star voting is now open, and that should be the true sign that summer has started. Closers aren't election-eligible, but plenty will be in Arlington, Texas for the game on July 16. There will even be some top-tier setup men. Maybe even a middle reliever sneaks his way in there! […]

Another exciting week of baseball gone by (depending, you know...on what team you root for), and some good drama before, during, and after the games made for a very interesting seven days. As we get closer and closer to the official summer, fantasy managers need to start looking toward the trade deadline and thinking ahead […]

Another week gone by, and this one was a lot less eventful, at least bullpen-wise. No major changes, no huge milestones, no trades. But that doesn't mean there weren't saves! That doesn't mean a few committees haven't started becoming more and more clear. That doesn't mean a closer who looked to be on his way […]

With another interesting week of baseball behind us, things are really starting to take shape for the 2024 baseball season. Hot starts are cooling off, season-opening slumps are recovering, and roles are getting more and more defined. Not a lot of major changes this week in the bullpens across the league, but a few minor […]

It's still far in the distance but we're starting to see a glimmer of the trade deadline way off in the horizon. Shout-out to the Marlins and Padres making a deal this week to remind us of the wild time that awaits us at the end of July. As always, closers and other high-leverage relievers […]

We've made it through the first month of the season, and it's been a good one. For some teams. And for some players. But also a really, really bad one. For some teams. And for some players. Lots of highs and lows already in the 2024 baseball season, and bullpens have not been safe from […]

Yeah, sure, the NFL Draft happened last night and it was exciting, but did you see that Marlins reliever Calvin Faucher has started his Marlins career with 7.2 scoreless innings and a 10:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio? Maybe we're a little too bullpen-brained here in the RotoBaller Closers and Saves Report... Another week of baseball is behind us, […]

It's still early enough in the 2024 season that we can have a lot of fun with small sample sizes. For example, Kyle Finnegan, Ryan Helsley, and Clay Holmes each have seven saves. The Astros, Marlins, White Sox, Rockies, and Twins don't even have seven wins yet. If you combine the Marlins and the White […]

Another week down and now we have pretty much every baseball team with a dozen games played. A lot of things make sense (Mookie Betts and the Dodgers are really good, the Phillies and Braves are battling for the NL East, the White Sox are bad, etc.) Some things make less sense (what happened to […]

We're a week into the season and...the Angels are in first place, the Guardians are the best team in baseball by run differential, and the Marlins might never win a game again. In other words: it's still early, folks! But early or not, we've already seen some bullpen trends start to develop across the league. […]
