DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football (10/16/21 Late Night)

rachaad white fantasy football rookies rankings NFL draft sleepers running backs

Mike Marteny's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the late night slate on 10/16/21. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win big.

Did you think our college football DFS coverage was done for the day? Just because most of the world goes to bed before the late night slate doesn't mean that I do! College football addicts and DFS degenerates unite! It's not over until we say it is!

These late night tournaments on DraftKings have been outstanding this year, so tonight is another huge letdown with only two games. We kick it off with Arizona State leaving the sun in Tempe for the snow in Salt Lake City. We finish with Hawaii leaving the sun of....uh....Hawaii for the neon lights of Reno. This is still better than last week's two games! Let's finish the college football Saturday off right!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings that locks at 10pm eastern on 10/16/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Quarterbacks

Carson Strong, Nevada ($9,500)

I have a hard time paying this for Strong. He has put up good games every step of the way this year and last week's against New Mexico State nearly gave us 40 DraftKings points with a six touchdown performance. He's not throwing six touchdowns against Hawaii, so where does that leave us? Strong is still a must-play in cash games, and considering the matchup here and the defense that is allegedly lurking in the other game, I don't think we can fade him in GPP's either. We just have to suck it up and pay it.

Cameron Rising, Utah ($7,100)

This offense exploded under the leadership of Rising against USC. Or was it just the dysfunction of USC? Whatever the case, Rising racked up 35.94 DraftKings points in his second career start. It's going to be tougher sledding against Arizona State, but Rising proved that he can handle this role and this team. I still expect a solid outing out of him as the Utes try and keep pace.

Also consider: Jayden Daniels, Arizona State ($7,500); Chevan Cordeiro, Hawaii ($6,500)

DraftKings CFB DFS Running Backs

Rachaad White, Arizona State ($8,200)

I don't like the fact that he's splitting carries with DeaMonte Trayanum, but White is still the most talented back on the slate. When the chips were down against Stanford, the Sun Devils leaned on White, not Trayanum. In another game that promises to be close, I would expect that trend to continue. White is the most reliable option in the Arizona State backfield.

Calvin Turner Jr., Hawaii ($7,300)

Turner hasn't caught less than four passes in a game this year and is getting more carries as the season goes on. He started out the season mostly lining up at receiver, but the Warriors are going to get Turner the ball however they can. He's the most explosive player the offense has. Look for them to move him around to try and get mismatches against the Nevada defense.

Tavion Thomas, Utah ($4,000)

This Utah backfield is crowded, and therefore a bit of a mess. Thomas has 113 yards against USC on only 16 carries. Micah Bernard appears to be the choice on passing downs. Now that the Utes are healthy, T.J. Pledger is being phased back out. He was the 100-yard rusher tow games ago against Washington State, so who knows. When the Utes have leaned on Thomas, he has answered better than the others. He should be worth the risk.

Also consider: Toa Taua, Nevada ($6,000); Dae Dae Hunter, Hawaii ($4,500); Devonte Lee, Nevada ($3,800)

DraftKings CFB DFS Wide Receivers

Romeo Doubs, Nevada ($6,300)

In a perfect world, Nevada would have to throw more than they have to try and keep up with Hawaii. Hawaii's run defense, a sore spot early on, has only allowed one touchdown on the ground in the last three games combined. Nevada is going to go after them through the air, which bodes well for Doubs. He has 31 targets in four games, but only has one touchdown so far. Price isn't really a deterrent on this slate and Doubs still has the highest upside. That alone is enough to use him here.

Brant Kuithe, Utah ($4,700)

Kuithe did his damage against USC with a rushing touchdown, but I expect him to be more necessary as a receiver here. Kuithe is the security blanket for a young quarterback. The Sun Devils are going to put pressure on Rising, so Kuithe on dumpoffs should give him a nice floor and decent upside.

Elijah Badger, Arizona State ($4,300)

Badger is another Arizona State true freshman with a whole load of talent. This receiver corps is loaded with young talent, which also means it is mired in inconsistency. Arizona State has gotten Badger looks in the run game and passing game so far. He has scored in each of his first two games, meaning that Arizona State makes it a point to use him in the red zone. We can do worse, especially for this price.

Also consider: Melquan Stovall, Nevada ($6,100); Ricky Pearsall, Arizona State ($5,700); Cole Turner, Nevada ($5,500); Britain Covey, Utah ($4,400)
