FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (4/14/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Mike Marteny highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 4/14/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters. | RotoBaller.

We have a split Wednesday slate, but the FanDuel main slate still has seven games on it. If you want to participate in the early slate, don't overthink it. Lock in Corbin Burnes as the pitcher and stack against Brad Keller since Helen Keller has more fantasy points than Brad does this season. The Nationals have good career numbers against Adam Wainwright as well.

Once again, rain is a major threat in Baltimore. It should once again be light, but it might not be moving, the same as the last couple of days. It's hard to ignore one game on a smaller slate like this, but this will likely have several delays and will have a big problem even getting it in. It's unfortunate since Justin Dunn was looking like a solid low-priced option. It looks better up in New York, but if the game drags, rain could infiltrate the later innings.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 4/11/2021. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also check out today's DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Dustin May – LAD vs. COL ($9,000)

I was all ready to roll Lance McCullers Jr. out here against the Tigers, but the Motor City Kitties blew up Zack Greinke and Jake Odorizzi in the first two games of this series. Meanwhile, the Rockies are still atrocious hitters on the road. Put a pitcher out there who would be an ace on some staffs against a team that can't hit on the road and we have a recipe for a big game from May. In fact, the Rockies are hitting just .217 through ten games and have struck out 85 times.

Potential Alternate Play

Zach Plesac – CLE at CWS ($8,300)

The White Sox are off to a good start, but they haven't fared particularly well against Plesac. They are only hitting .204 with a 34.5% strikeout rate, no homers, and a paltry .311 SLG. We could see a pitcher's duel on the South Side today. If you are ballsy enough to fade May, you need to have one of the pitchers from this game. I prefer the high strikeout percentage that Plesac brings to the table.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Rhys Hoskins – 1B, PHI at NYM ($4,000)

David Peterson has given up seven homers in his career so far. That's not a bad number at all. Hoskins hit two of those in just five at bats against Peterson so far. Hoskins is off to his best start in his brief career. He leads the majors in doubles with six and has a pair of homers to go with his .306 average. Peterson has been outstanding against lefties and very good against righties. This is a one-off with a guy off to a good start and nothing more.

Max Muncy – 1B/2B, LAD vs. COL ($3,200)

Surprisingly enough, Jon Gray is much better at Coors Field than on the road. Dodger Stadium has been a particular house of horrors for Gray. He is 1-5 with a 6.84 ERA in six career starts there. Gray has even splits almost across the board, so there isn't a big advantage to either side. I'm on Muncy here because he is the only Dodger to homer more than once against Gray. He has two homers in 17 tries against Gray.

Yandy Diaz – 1B/3B, TB vs. TEX ($2,600)

I haven't decided if I'm going to chase after Kohei Arihara or not. However, I will have healthy exposure to the Rays. The Rangers bullpen ERA is getting frighteningly close to 6 and Arihara is on a pitch limit still. He won't go five innings. That means at least five innings of the Rangers bullpen coming to a Rays lineup near you. Diaz is cheap and has been batting in the five slot. I'm a big fan of Tampa batters here.

Corey Seager – SS, LAD vs. COL ($3,700)

Seager hit his first homer of the season last night, but he is hitting .366 on the young season. Seager is still scoring lots of points. He has history on his side as well. Seager is 9-24 with a homer and four RBI in his career against Jon Gray. We've covered just how bad Gray has been at Dodger Stadium. I'll have a few Dodgers and almost exclusively lefties.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Ronald Acuna Jr. – OF, ATL vs. MIA ($4,600)

Hitters don't get any hotter than Acuna right now. He has five straight games of double-digit FanDuel points. For a hitter, that is absolutely insane. The game that broke this streak was a 9 point tally against Washington a whole week ago. The two games before that, Acuna assassinated Washington pitching. He is hitting absolutely everything right now. Nick Neidert is going to have some big issues trying to get Acuna out.

Franmil Reyes – OF, CLE at CWS ($3,500)

Reyes has power against anyone, but he has obliterated left-handed pitching in his career. He hits lefties for a .297 clip in 269 career at bats against southpaws. I wouldn't go too hard after Carlos Rodon. He has finally rounded into the prospect that the White Sox always hoped he would be. Reyes is hot enough to use here as a one-off though, especially considering his track record against lefties.

Corey Dickerson – OF, MIA at ATL ($2,600)

Dickerson and Charlie Morton are familiar with each other from their days in the N.L. Central together. Dickerson is 6-14 with a pair of homers against Morton in his career. Atlanta is a ballpark that caters to lefties. Morton doesn't have egregious splits to speak of, but Dickerson is cheap and in a park that caters to him.

FanDuel DFS Stacks Options

  • Tampa Bay Rays
  • Los Angeles Dodgers
  • Miami Marlins left handers
  • Seattle Mariners if the game plays
