Myles Gaskin

Gaskin was a pleasant surprise in 2020. He was mostly undrafted in season-long leagues and likely dropped prior to the 2020 season in your modest size bench dynasty leagues. Don’t hate yourself if you dropped Gaskin in the summer of 2020. Miami signed Jordan Howard and proactively traded for Matt Breida, who was coming off a nice season in San Francisco. Both Howard and Breida were considered “value” picks in the eighth round last year. Gaskin had the season we thought a player like Devin Singletary would have. A plug and play every week RB2 with weekly upside to finish in the top-12.
For the first half of the 2020 season, Weeks 1-8, Gaskin was the RB17. He then missed a month of action causing his seasonal ranking to drop. When Gaskin returned, he remained productive, including a massive 35-point fantasy output in Week 16. Gaskin's lack of draft pedigree along with his suboptimal size (5’10” 200 lbs) are contributing to his eighth-round startup ADP. RosterWatch had the RB ranked above ADP when we weighed the risk of his cost against the upside of him retaining his workhorse role.
This week, news emerged from beat writers stating they would be “shocked if Miami didn’t add a workhorse RB to the team.” RosterWatch rankings pledge to remain relevant by adjusting to the conditions as they change. That news is concerning enough to drop him to RB32. Until Miami actually drafts or signs a threat, he still belongs amongst startable RBs. Keep an eye on Gaskin’s ADP, and understand there is more risk at this point.
Tyreek Hill
Age: 27

Even the slightest movement near the top of the dynasty startup rankings needs to be considered significant. Tyreek Hill was our WR3, and has now firmly moved to the WR we covet the most. We put our ranks to the test in a competitive startup draft, where RosterWatch co-founder Alex Dunlap was picking in the 11 spot. After 10 RBs went off the board, Alex was sitting there with his choice of every WR to draft. When push came to shove, he confidently clicked “draft” on Patrick Mahomes' number one wide receiver.
Hill is in his peak production age (27) and is attached to Patrick Mahomes for the long term. The young rising stars like Justin Jefferson and DK Metcalf are certainly worth consideration as the dynasty WR1, but Hill’s resume of banked production is of greater value than the age difference between him and the other players. RosterWatch urges its readers to play dynasty in two to three-year windows versus five to six-year windows with your first-round pick. Tyreek Hill profiles as a player who should age well. His body type and game style traditionally have a longer shelf life than players of the past like Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson.
Antonio Gibson

Antonio Gibson holds “Golden Son” status within RosterWatch Nation. For those not familiar with this elite level of praise, it is comparable to Knighthood. RosterWatch co-founders Byron Lambert and Alex Dunlap were literally the first to identify Gibson as a future fantasy star. Their boots on the ground reports about Gibson from the 2020 Senior Bowl had the fantasy industry buzzing last summer.
The pushback on Antonio Gibson was that he was locked into a committee of three at the time, sharing snaps with Derrius Guice and Adrian Peterson. Gibson quickly emerged to the top of the depth chart and became an RB1 for fantasy though. After a monster three-week run of fantasy production in Weeks 10-12, Gibson was injured and was not usable for the rest of the season. The recency bias has Gibson outside of the elite options at running back in most ranks. Now that we have had a moment to reflect on his amazing rookie season, it's time to add Gibson to the list of RBs that you should proactively draft in the top-15 picks.
