FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (1/4/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

"Thunder Dan" Palyo highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 1/4/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Happy Monday, everyone! As we all head back to work today, we can take solace in the fact that we have nine NBA games on the slate for tonight as the NBA shifts to center stage and Monday Night Football is officially over.

As always, there are a handful of injuries to monitor but we did get word that both Luka Doncic and James Harden are going to play today. Blake Griffin is out for Detroit as well as Josh Jackson. Keep an eye out for other injury info that comes out in the next few hours and don't worry our NBA news desk has you covered!

This post will be recommending daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/4/21. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks. Keep an eye on Rotoballer’s injury news to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Stephen Curry, PG - vs. SAC ($9,500)

How can we ignore Steph after he just dropped 62 actual points on the Blazers last night, right? The breakout was coming sooner or later and there's no reason to think he can't do it again (or at least come close) tonight against a porous Kings' defense. His 35% usage rate this season is one of the best on the slate and he's a lock for your cash games at this price.

Seth Curry, SG - vs. CHA ($5,500)

How many Currys is too many tonight? Steph's little brother has stepped into his starting role for the Sixers quite well as he's averaging 16-2-4 over his first six games in Philly. He's picked it up lately, scoring 21 points in two straight games including a 34 FanDuel point performance against these Hornets on Saturday. At this price point, he's hard to pass up. He's getting up shots and the matchup against Charlotte is a good one.

Collin Sexton, SG - @Orlando ($7,100)

Darius Garland is currently questionable for Cleveland, which could leave Sexton with more ball-handling duties. He's playing off the ball most of the time for the Cavs and has scored 20+ actual points in every game this season. He's also hit 5x at this price in four of those six games, making him a really solid cash game play. With the Cavs so shorthanded, Sexton should be asked to do a lot of the heavy lifting on offense and has scored the ball efficiently so far this season.

Also consider: Marcus Smart ($5,700), Markelle Fultz ($5,800)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Tobias Harris, SF - vs. CHA ($8,000)

Tobias has quietly been playing really well for Philly and has outscored Embiid in two of the Sixers' last three games this season. He went for 59.8 FD points against this Charlotte team on Saturday on the strength of seven blocks/steals and a solid 24-9-6 line. He can do a little of everything and when he's scoring and getting ancillary stats he's one of the better wings in the NBA. He got priced up a little and people are likely going to chase the last game so he's ideal for cash games with his floor and the likely popularity.

Julius Randle, PF - @ATL ($8,100)

Randle is averaging 43 FD points per game this season which is well over 5x his price. He's doing it on the strength of his rebounding and passing as he's averaging 21-10-7 this year and playing over 37 minutes per game. He has one of the best floors of any player on the slate with how involved he is on offense and the boards. Even if he's not making shots, he's going to grab double-digit boards and rack up assists. This game with Atlanta presents a nice pace boost for New York. Hopefully, they can stay with the Hawks, and then Randle could hit his ceiling, too.

Christian Wood, PF - vs. DAL ($9,100)

Pay 9k for Christian Wood even when Harden is playing? Yes, just do it. If you haven't watched him play yet, Wood is a gifted and athletic big man who scores with ease. He's going to be a huge mismatch for guys like Dwight Powell and Maxi Kleber and I expect him to keep his productive ways going tonight in this game. The return of Boogie Cousins hasn't affected him much. His minutes have dropped, but he's still averaging 20.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in his last two games.

Also consider: De'Andre Hunter ($5,200), Tyler Herro ($5,400), Kelly Olynyk (4,600)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Nikola Vucevic, C - vs. CLE ($8,300)

It's time to turn the Vooch loose again tonight! Nikola is fresh off a 30-13-2 game against OKC and is still too cheap on FanDuel for the caliber of player he is. His production has dipped a tad overall this year due to Orlando having Aaron Gordon back and being a bit more balanced, but Vuc is still an elite scorer and rebounder. His ability to stretch the floor is going to be a matchup problem for Andre Drummond or JaVale McGee tonight.

Also consider: Clint Capela ($6,500), Mitchell Robinson ($5,500)
