DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS (10/25/20)

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on October 25th, 2020. MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Hopefully, everyone stayed up late enough to catch the ending of Game 4, it was magical. Congrats to both teams for making the series quite enjoyable to watch. The World Series's fifth game will take up to a beastly matchup of Clayton Kershaw and Tyler Glasnow. Pitching should be the key to this game as both starters last night did not go past the fifth inning, and bullpens were depleted.

Kershaw hasn't been throwing over 90 pitchers, and Glasnow lost command of the strike zone-so who is going to break first? I am leaning towards the Dodgers getting the most of Glasnow so that the lineup focus will be geared to the Dodgers sluggers.

While I don't expect the theatrics of Game 4, you can't help but be so pleased that we have made it this far into the season-given all the struggles of 2020. Take a moment and watch as a fan of the game while collecting your winnings. Good Luck!

Captain/MVP/STAR Selections

Corey Seager ($8,500 FD, $9,600 DK, $14,400 DK CPT)

Seager has a year he wishes would never end. After a monster season, he just broke the record for the number of HRs hit in a postseason. Besides being red hot at the plate, Seager has a career built on success off right-handed pitchers. He sports a 140 wRC+ and .379 wOBA, and .900 OPS vs. RHP in a little over 1500 plate appearances. Facing off against Tyler Glasnow is a scary proposition but has come with its fair share of walks and HRs lately. If you haven't been rostering Seager in your builds thus far, you're probably not collecting many paydays. Make sure you put Seager in there somewhere.

Randy Arozarena ($8,000 FD, $9,200 DK, $13,800 DK CPT)

In case you didn't watch Game 4, yes, Randy did it again! If there is any other player just as hot as Corey Seager, it's Randy Arozarena. The man now has nine HRs and slashing .354/.425/.800 throughout the playoffs. Sure, there is a bit of swing and miss in his profile, but that has also come with fireworks. Facing off against Clayton Kershaw is a daunting task, but if anyone on the Rays will be successful, I'm choosing Randy.

Utility Selections

Cody Bellinger ($9,000, $8,800 DK)

If someone asked who is your next selection for Captian/MVP/Star not named Seager or Arozarena, I would suggest Cody Bellinger. Sure, he is extremely pricey, but that is because he matches up very nicely in this contest. If you believe in BvP, Bellinger has taken Glasnow deep twice in three at-bats. Cody has also benefitted greatly when facing right-handed pitching. In his four year career, he has a robust .291 ISO and .951 OPS. If you widdle it down to just 2020, Bellinger hit nine HRs in 160 plate appearances. It's not hard to picture a big night for Bellinger.

Justin Turner ($8,000 FD, $8,600 DK)

One of the front-runners for World Series MVP is Justin Turner. He went yard again in the first innings of Game 4 and collected four hits in the process. That brings his hit total up to eight in the World Series alone-beautiful! Turner gets a slight downgrade because he faces a right-handed pitcher on the mound. Throughout his career, Turner has handled RHP better than MLB average with a .843 OPS and 132 wRC+, but there is a slight dip in power. His ISO has fallen to .155, which is below his career mark. Still think he can have a successful night, but just not enough there to suggest captain status.

Manuel Margot ($7,000 FD, $7,400 DK)

Margot has been batting comfortably in the heart of the Rays lineup. The price feels right at around $7k as Margot isn't quite a superstar but shouldn't be a free square. He has been productive with four hits and three runs in the series. We have not had a monster game from him yet like the two HR game vs. the Astros. I really like the idea of Margot in a GPP-style format. He shouldn't be too heavily rostered, and if the Rays offense goes off, it would be a tremendous leverage play.

Will Smith ($6,000 FD, $8,200 DK)

FanDuel still gives the Fresh Prince a discount because he is a catcher-I will happily be taking that in all FanDuel lineups. Error on their part, and advantage in my pocket. I will suggest, that it may be a chalkier play, but it must garner your attention. A casual DFS player may miss the fact that Smith is a reverse splits hitter-he actually performs much better against RHP while also bats from the right side. In fact, all eight of his HRs came off RHP.

Joc Pederson ($5,500 FD, $5,600 DK)

"Joc Jams" is a boom or bust, GPP-style play. He lives off of mashing right-handed pitching but garners little to no use vs. a southpaw. In 112 plate appearances, he took seven right-handed pitchers deep, but that came with a .179 batting average and .276 on-base percentage. Yes, a true "all or nothing" approach at the dish. He made quite a bit of music last night by collecting two hits and driving in two Dodgers. Start him and cross those fingers.
