The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Dallas Stars by a score of 3-2 in Game 2 of the 2020 Stanley Cup Finals on Monday. The Lightning got off to a great start with three first period goals coming from forwards Brayden Point, Ondrej Palat and defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk. Nikita Kucherov totaled two assists in the opening period, setting a Lightning franchise record for most multipoint games (25) in the Playoffs, along with an NHL-leading 28 points (six goals, 22 assists) during the 2020 NHL Playoffs. The Stars would respond with a pair of goals coming from forwards Joe Pavelski and Mattias Janmark in the second and third period, respectively, while Alexander Radulov and John Klingberg each posted a pair of assists in the contest to provide help on the offensive end. Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 27-of-29 shots on goal in the victory, while Stars goaltender Anton Khudobin made 28 saves in the loss.
