FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Chris Bassitt: OAK vs CIN ($9,500)

Bassitt has the best matchup on the slate, facing off against one of the worst teams in the league against right-handed pitching. The Reds have only managed a .205/.282/.371 with a .281 wOBA so far this season vs RHP. Bassitt has been solid so far this season in his first three starts, allowing a 2.12 ERA with 22 strikeouts in just 17 innings. Combine all of this with him starting in the pitcher-friendly park in Oakland, and he should be the best pitcher on a slate with a lot of question marks at the position.

Mike Soroka: ATL at ARI ($9,800)

There aren't a whole lot of good pitching options from a matchup perspective on the slate, so I will go with the pitcher that is off to the best start statistically. Soroka has been dealing in his first full season in the majors, giving up a 1.14 ERA with 27 strikeouts over his first four starts.  He is also averaging 46.3 FanDuel Points over the last three games. The only issue I have in this matchup is that the Diamondbacks aren't too bad of a team against right-handed pitching, boasting a .316 wOBA. Soroka does have the talent to combat this problem, and he should be a solid pivot off of Bassitt in your lineups.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Gary Sanchez: C, NYY vs SEA ($4,300)

As much as I hate paying up at catcher, this matchup was something that I could not ignore. Sanchez faces off against Mike Leake today, who is giving up a .461 wOBA and a 50% Hard Contact Rate against right-handed hitting. Sanchez has been raking as the anchor of this injury-riddled Yankees team, boasting a .406 wOBA and a whopping .408 ISO against righties. His 53.9% Hard Contact Rate coming face to face with Leake's Hard Contact could result in some fireworks today at the always home run friendly Yankee Stadium.

Jose Altuve: 2B, HOU vs TEX ($3,700)

If they keep rolling out one of the best hitters in baseball at under $4K, I have no trouble putting Altuve in my lineup pretty much every day. The numbers on the surface may not show it with a .236 AVG, but I see a guy who has put up a .472 wOBA and .467 ISO so far this season against left-handed pitching. He faces a pitcher today in Mike Minor who has had a decent start to the season, but historically he has struggled more against right-handed hitting, coming in with a career mark of a .311 wOBA. This could be the game where we see a regression from Minor, as he faces one of the best teams in baseball against left-handed pitching.

Kris Bryant: 3B, CHC vs MIA ($4,300)

Bryant has been awakening from his early-season slumber, knocking out three home runs over his last four games. Despite the slow start to the season, he still boasts a .379 wOBA and .223 ISO against right-handed pitching. Trevor Richards has been up and down over his past couple of starts, notably a start against the Cubs where he allowed five runs over 4.2 innings. He has allowed a .313 wOBA against right-handed hitters, to go along with a 50% Hard Contact Rate. We finally get a game in this series where the wind will be blowing out at Wrigley, so it should be bombs away for the Cubs batters.

Tim Beckham: SS, SEA at NYY ($3,400)

Beckham has had a struggle since his hot start to the season, but he has looked better as of late. I like him to break out of the funk soon, and there's no better opportunity than today when he faces J.A. Happ. Beckham has been mashing the ball against left-handed pitchers, coming in with a .464 wOBA and .267 ISO. Happ hasn't looked as good this season as the past couple years, only managing a 4.93 ERA with a 1-3 record. He has also allowed a .347 wOBA to right-handed hitters with eight home runs.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Victor Robles: OF, WSH at LAD ($3,500)

Rich Hill has been terrible against right-handed hitters this season, allowing a .460 wOBA to go along with a 42.3% Hard Contact Rate. Robles is much too low of a salary in this matchup, as he boasts a .365 wOBA and .267 ISO against left-handed pitching. As a side note, the Nationals should be a low-owned stack on this slate as your opponents will be afraid to attack Rich Hill. However, when looking at this lineup full of right-handed hitting, and Hill's stats against righties, this could be a spot where Hill has some trouble.

Nick Markakis: OF, ATL at ARI ($3,300)

Markakis is too cheap not to give him a look when facing a right-handed pitcher. He comes into the game with a .421 wOBA and .225 ISO, to go along with a 46.8% Hard Contact Rate against righties. Luke Weaver has been having a good season to date, but I am not as high on him as some people, and I will ignore his decent numbers against left-handed hitters so far this season to instead focus on the .337 wOBA he has allowed in his career. It also intrigues me that the Braves are one of the better hitting teams against right-handers this year, so if they can chase Weaver early, they get to face an abysmal Diamondbacks bullpen. They are in the bottom third of the league in both ERA and home runs allowed, with a 4.62 ERA and 20 home runs.
