Week 14 Kickers To Start & Stream: Tiers & Rankings

Tier 1 NFL Kickers

  1. Stephen Gostkowski (vs BAL)
  2. Steven Hauschka (@ GB)
  3. Dan Bailey (vs NYG)
  4. Justin Tucker (@ NE)

I want to just take a moment and appreciate the work my boy Hoosh-Money put in against Carolina on Sunday. I mean, the dude kicked them into next season by effectively ending their season. This week he draws an eerie similar team, and while results may vary, another kicking extravaganza could (and I think will) be on the horizon. Don’t believe me? Let’s think about it: an NFC team with a top-flight QB playing below their capability, a struggling defense, and no run game to speak of. Sound like the Panthers? How about the Packers? The answer is yes, it does sound like the Packers, therefore Hauschka is an elite play.

Sunday morning on my radio show (Fantasy Football Free-For-All, check us out on Rotoballer’s BlogTalkRadio channel Sunday mornings at 11:30 AM Eastern) I went on a brief rant about how the Ravens have no offense and couldn’t put up points if they tried. I was real wrong on that one. The Ravens put on a show and demolished a hot Dolphins team last week, put that offense in Foxborough against a middling New England defense and watch them do work once again. More importantly, Tucker simply doesn’t miss and therefore he will remain an elite play ROS.

Tier 2 NFL Kickers

  1. Cairo Santos (vs OAK)
  2. Josh Lambo (@ CAR)
  3. Dan Carpenter (vs PIT)
  4. Ryan Succop (vs DEN)
  5. Wil Lutz (@ TB)
  6. Mike Nugent (@ CLE)

After getting pounded on by Steven Hauschka, it’s Josh Lambo’s turn to kick the Panthers’ butts (pun very much intended). Not only is he Rotoballer Kicker Rankings’ favorite son, he’s a damn good kicker on a high powered offense. Philip Rivers has kept his team in every game, even if he has to drag them kicking and screaming to do it, and Lambo is a big part of Rivers’ offensive efforts.

Where did that Cincinnati offense come from??? They roasted a talented Eagles defense like it was nothing and couldn’t have a better follow-up game to keep the ball rolling. The Browns are just plain awful and the Bengals are gonna stomp ‘em. Nugent’s fantasy score is just going to be a byproduct - embrace it and start him with confidence.

Tier 3 NFL Kickers

  1. Sebastian Janikowski (@ KC)
  2. Adam Vinatieri (vs HOU)
  3. Randy Bullock (@ BUF)
  4. Matt Bryant (@ LA)
  5. Graham Gano (vs SD)

Seabass’ offensive contribution levels have continued to grow more and more as the Raiders continue to start games off cold before heating up in the second half. Against an opportunistic Chiefs defense on the road, the Raiders’ mojo may struggle to come out in a timely fashion and Seabass ought to see a few field goal opportunities early as Derek Carr settles into what should be a thrilling game.

Tier 4 NFL Kickers

  1. Dustin Hopkins (@ PHI)
  2. Chandler Catanzaro (@ MIA)
  3. Matt Prater (vs CHI)
  4. Nick Folk (@ SF)
  5. Mason Crosby (vs SEA)

The Cardinals’ offense finally looked like it was heading into 2016 a shootout with Kirk Cousins and the Redskins and this should continue as the Cardinals travel to Miami to take on a Dolphins team fresh off a butt-whooping courtesy of the Ravens. That being said, Catanzaro isn’t a top play due to the Cardinals over-effectiveness on offense leaving him few field goal opportunities. It’s hard to envision their offense stalling out on many a drive in the red zone and therefore it should be hard to envision Catanzaro in your starting lineup.

Tier 5 NFL Kickers

  1. Brandon McManus (@ TEN)
  2. Roberto Aguayo (vs NO)
  3. Robbie Gould (@ DAL)
  4. Nick Novak (@ IND)
