Week 9 Monday Night (MNF) Matchups Analysis: Start/Sit for Fantasy Football

What's up RotoBallers. Below you will find our Week 9 NFL Monday Night matchups & fantasy football start/sit analysis for the 2016 NFL football season. Ben Ruppert breaks down the final portion of the Week 9 matchups to help you prepare your lineups to win this week.

Each week of the NFL season, we will be breaking down individual matchups and providing you with some fantasy football advice and lineup recommendations based on matchups that we love, matchups that we hate, and some high-risk/high-reward players, as well. It’s essential to analyze the weekly NFL match-ups to find lineup sleepers and gems, while also avoiding those players who may turn out to be busts.

Editor's Note: New users that sign up on FantasyAces, make a $20 deposit, and enter any game will receive our full season NFL (or NBA) Premium Pass for free, a $59.99 value. Bills @ Seahawks - Monday 11/7 @ 8:30 PM EST

Matchups We Love:

Doug Baldwin (WR, SEA)

Doug Baldwin has been the Seahawks most reliable receiver this season, catching 38-of-51 targets for 481 yards and two TDs. This week the Bills come into town, who have had some holes in their secondary over the past few weeks. Buffalo has allowed an opposing WR to score in each of the past three weeks, after allowing a WR to score only twice in the first five weeks of the season. The Bills defense has slipped the past two weeks, giving the struggling Seahawks offense a chance to shine at home on Monday night. Baldwin should be able to have a solid game against a defense that was just torn apart by the Patriots a week ago.

Matchups We Hate:

LeSean McCoy (RB, BUF)

Shady is expected to play this week against Seattle, after missing last week’s game against New England while dealing with a hamstring injury. He has been the backbone of the Bills offense this season, rushing for 598 yards in his seven games played with six TDs. The Seattle defense has allowed two consecutive 100-yard rushers, but overall this season has done well against opposing RBs. They have allowed the fourth fewest fantasy points to the RB position, allowing only 80 yards rushing on average. With a lack of options in the passing game McCoy will be more involved there, but against this tough defense he will have a hard time on Monday night.

Russell Wilson (QB, SEA)

Wilson hasn’t been the same player this season that we’ve seen in the past. The injured knee he suffered in Week 3 has affected Wilson more than expected; the lack of mobility has left him to be a pocket passing QB. He has only thrown for five TDs in seven games this season, and against a soft Saints defense last week Wilson only threw for 253 yards, with no TDs and one INT. The Bills' defense has been good against opposing QBs this season, allowing the eighth fewest fantasy points to the position. With two good defenses aiming to take on one another, this one is shaping up to be a grudge match. Sit Wilson this week if you have better options.

Notable Players:

Robert Woods (WR, BUF)

With the Bills lacking so many options on the outside, a hobbled Robert Woods will be forced to play this week against Seattle. Woods re-aggravated his foot injury in the game against the Dolphins two weeks ago, and hasn’t looked the same since. He was hobbling around after routes during the Patriots game, but with Sammy Watkins and Marquise Goodwin out, Woods will need to play to keep the Bills' WRs afloat. None of the Bills receiving options provide a safe fantasy option, given the lack of volume in the passing game. Woods makes for a risky play this week, given the team he plays for and the level of opponent he faces this week.

Christine Michael (RB, SEA)

Michael has had a mediocre stretch of games recently, averaging 16 carries for 54 yards (3.4 YPC) per game, with three TDs. This week he will face a Bills defense giving up the 13th most fantasy points to the RB position. They had reeled off several solid run defense games before they were torn apart by Jay Ajayi for over 200 yards. Against a beatable defense, Michael will be capable of having a solid game if given enough touches.
