MLB Hitter Cheat Sheet (4/20/16): Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Picks

Jacob Gibbs's MLB DFS hitters for 4/20/16 - daily fantasy baseball cheat sheet and lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings GPPs and cash games.

It doesn't take an expert to tell you to play Bryce Harper against right-handed pitching. It is much more difficult, however, to sift through the cheap options for the right value plays that can help you fit in the studs you want and put your lineup over the top.

That is the purpose of this article -- to provide you with the best value hitters available each day.

Today I'll be bringing you seven value hitters for MLB Daily Fantasy Baseball on FanDuel and DraftKings for April 20th, 2016. Let's get started!

DFS Hitters - Lineup Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings

1. Mark Trumbo, OF, Baltimore Orioles

FanDuel Price: $4,000; DraftKings Price: $4,200

What a surprise, Mark Trumbo is off to a hot start! The big slugger is hitting .321 with 5 HR and 11 RBI over his past seven games, and should continue his hot start tonight against R.A. Dickey.

Dickey's 4.76 SIERA last season is the worst mark among today's starters, and he was even worse against right-handers. He also had the third-lowest power/finesse ratio in the American League last season.

Trumbo has a career .266 batting average and .505 slugging percentage against finesse pitchers, as opposed to a .205 batting average and .369 slugging percentage against power pitchers. The big righty is close to a must-play tonight, especially if stacking the Orioles' lineup.

2. Corey Seager, SS, Los Angeles Dodgers

FanDuel Price: $3,400, DraftKings Price: $4,000

Seager's outlook last night was slightly dampened when Julio Teheran was scratched and replaced by Williams Perez, who is much more of a ground-ball pitcher. If we loved Seager yesterday, we should against love him tonight against Teheran, who has struggled his way to a 6.35 ERA through three starts. Teheran wasn't much better last year, posting a 4.24 SIERA. He struggled specifically against lefties, who maintained a .507 slugging percentage against him.

This all bodes well for the hard-hitting left-handed shortstop. In his short career, Seager has posted an improved slugging percentage, ISO, wOBA, fly-ball rate, and hard-hit rate against right-handed pitching. He should have no problem with Teheran tonight.

3. Mitch Moreland, OF/1B, Texas Rangers

FanDuel Price: $3,100, DraftKings Price: $3,900

I'll denote this by saying I definitely prefer this play on FanDuel where Moreland is cheaper and OF eligible.

Right-hander Doug Fister will be tasked with pitching to the lefty-heavy Rangers' lineup today, and considering his 2015 SIERA of 4.47 and poor splits against lefties, he could be in for a long day.

Moreland crushed right-handed pitching last season, elevating his slugging percentage from .387 against lefties to .528 against righties, his ISO from .142 to .234, his wOBA from .297 to .372, his hard-hit rate from 34.5 percent to 36.7 percent, and his fly-ball rate from 31.9 percent to 35.9 percent. He also cut down on his strikeout rate from 24 percent to 20.7 percent.

The Rangers have the highest implied team totals on the board today, and Moreland should be a big part of that, hitting in the heart of the order.

4. Neil Walker, 2B, New York Mets

FanDuel Price: $2,900, DraftKings Price: $3,800

Last night marked the seventh out of his past eight games in which Walker has collected a hit. Oh yeah, and he went yard twice and now has five homers in his last five games!

He has a chance to keep it going tonight against right-hander Jeremy Hellickson, who had a 4.14 SIERA in 2015 and pitched worse to left-handed batters. This game is also being played at Citizens Bank Park, which has the highest HR-Park Factor over the past three seasons.

Walker's career slugging percentage and ISO have both jumped by over 100 points against righties, and he should feast on Hellickson tonight.

5. Michael Conforto, OF, New York Mets

FanDuel Price: $2,800, DraftKings Price: $3,400

The young lefty continues to mash right-handed pitching, and added to his totals last night with two more hits and a home run.

Similar to Walker, Conforto will benefit from Hellickson's ineptitude on the mound and the hitter's park. All 10 of Conforto's career home runs have come against right-handers, and he has elevated his career hard-hit rate to dangerous proportions against righties (43.2 percent). As a result, Conforto has been moved to the three-hole when the Mets face a righty.

There is a lot to love in the Mets' lineup tonight, but none more so than Conforto at his price.
