FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers and Advice for 9/29/15

I can't believe we're in the final week of the season. We've got a 15 game slate tonight, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 EDT. Lots of bad weather surrounding stadiums tonight, so don't set your lineups without checking the forecast.

What's up RotoBallers. Welcome to another edition of my FanDuel DFS lineup picks and analysis. As always, my goal with this article is to help you identify viable options to insert into your FanDuel lineups, based on DFS pricing and matchups data.

We've got a nine-game main slate tonight, with MLB action kicking off at 3:05 EDT today. Let's get started.

Offenses to Target for FanDuel Stacking

Cubs versus Josh Smith

Josh Smith is awful. There isn't really any other way to put it. (Sorry, Josh) He doesn't belong in the major leagues and he's pitched very poorly this season, especially at Great American Ballpark - where he's allowed an overall .402 wOBA and .521 slugging percentage - the Cubs should be able to touch him up for a handful of runs. Vegas has this game pegged with an over/under of nine runs. If you're really looking to hone in on a certain side of the plate, he's been particularly awful against left-handed hitters (7.06 xFIP and 3.0 HR/9). Lucky for you and me, the Cubs have plenty of talented LHB.

Diamonbacks right-handed hitters versus Christian Bergman

Keep a close eye on the DBacks lineup, as they've been resting a few of their studs. That said, I really like the Arizona right-handed hitters in a great power park against a pitcher that has been touched up quite a bit by guys on that side of the dish. For the season, Bergman has allowed a .424 wOBA and .606 slugging percentage to RHB. His strikeout percentage is considerably lower against righties and they have an impressive (or unimpressive, if you're looking from the point of view of Bergman) 1.82 HR/9 against him. Like the Cubs-Reds contest, Vegas also has this over/under set at nine runs.

Honorable Mention: Rangers LHB versus Daniel Norris

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Tyson Ross (SP, SDP) - $9,100

Tyson Ross has been a pretty great pitcher this season, particularly in the second half (and in GPP's). Since the All-Star break, the big right-hander has struck out 27% of batters with a 2.94 ERA and just a .224 batting average allowed. Tonight, he gets a pretty weak Brewers lineup in his pitcher friendly park of Petco, and against rookie Jorge Lopez, I do like his chances for a win.

Honorable Mention: Cole Hamels (SP, TEX) - $10,600

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Stephen Vogt (C, OAK) - $2,200

Vogt gives me what I want at catcher - especially on a day with great but expensive pitchers - and that's power at a cheap cost. For the season, Vogt owns a .374 wOBA, .224 ISO and a .505 slugging percentage. He hasn't been all that great lately, but he's still been serviceable and the matchup and price are right for the taking.

Lucas Duda (1B, NYM) - $3,800

Duda gets a park upgrade tonight against a weaker pitcher and comes in on quite the power tear. For his career he's a .478 slugger against RHP and in the past two weeks he's hit four home runs and is slugging .862.

Starlin Castro (2B, CHC) - $3,200

Castro is playing his best baseball of the 2015 season right now and also gets a park upgrade tonight against a pitcher that doesn't have any business being in the major leagues. In the past 14 days, Starlin is slugging .650.

Miguel Sano (3B, MIN) - $3,800

Sano is a beast, particularly against right-handed pitching, and his cost is finally below 4K. For the season, he owns a .434 wOBA and a .328 ISO against RHP.

Jed Lowrie (3B, HOU) - $2,500

Lowrie has cooled off as of late and isn't in the greatest park for hitters tonight, but he can provide salary relief at the hot corner and has two things going for him - he owns a .429 batting average lifetime against Nuno and for the season, he has a .497 wOBA against southpaws.

Carlos Correa (SS, HOU) - $3,600

Save for park factors, all signs point to go for Correa in the other four big categories I'm honed in on. He faces an average pitcher and owns a .430 wOBA, .305 ISO and .622 slugging percentage this season against left-handed pitching.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Jacoby Ellsbury (OF, NYY) - $2,700

Jacoby's bat is heating up once again after a cool August, as he's hitting .327 over the past two weeks. He's in a great park for LHH tonight, owns a .327 wOBA against righties and the price is right.

Kyle Schwarber (OF, CHC) - $3,700

Schwarber is another kid that has cooled off a bit lately but if you've seen him hit recently, you'll notice a lot of hard-hit outs. He's due and he's facing a terrible right-hander in a hitter's park this evening. For the season, he's put up a .375 ISO and .712 slugging percentage against RHP.

Curtis Granderson (OF, NYM) - $3,500

The Grandy Man is most productive when facing right-handed pitching and he gets a park upgrade and weak opposing starter tonight. His season numbers against RHP are pretty impressive - .380 wOBA and a .224 ISO.
