Week 3 Lineups and Start/Sit Q&A

Don’t forget you can always head over to our fantasy football chatroom, anytime, and for a “free for all” banter about fantasy football. Enjoy RotoBallers!

Hey guys, i'm going to be opening this chat in about 15 minutes. If you've got any week 3/ROS questions, i'm here to answer.

Jarvis Landry or Amari Cooper?

@Doug, Jarvis, no question. He's getting opportunities like crazy every week.

Pick 2 - Justin Forsett, Carlos Hyde, LeSean McCoy

@Doug, Hyde/Forsett

should i take rishard matthews or leonard hankerson from the wire?

@Machelle, Rishard Matthews for me. Ryan Tannehill seems to really like throwing to him, he's become the #2b option there

Should I trade Chris Ivory and Donte Moncrief for A.J. Green and David Johnson?

@bulah, I'd hold back from making that trade. Ivory's looking really good minus the MNF game and Moncrief is looking like a real part of their offense.

@Bulah, DJ isn't particularly worth much this year in my opinion, and AJ Green isn't being relied on as heavily with all the weapons there

Andy Dalton @ Baltimore or marcus mariota home against the colts?

@Jodie, man that's rough. Dalton plays horribly against repeat opponents he's faced within the last year and Mariota's just not doing great. I think i'll take Mariota though,especially if the Colts are still missing their top 3 CBs.

@Bulah, I guess if you're unlikely to ever start moncrief, then you might as well make the trade.

drop joique bell?

@Bradley, joique shouldn't have been owned to begin with imo. Might not be worth dropping him though if thre's nothing on the waivers.

Yo Edward tough situation, 2qb keeper league. Should I trade Drew Brees for Mark Ingram and joe flacco? I have carson Palmer and Tyrod taylor

@Deidre, I'd do it.

Hey edward, i know this might seem funny, but matchup wise idk...Calvin Johnson or Martellus Bennett (flex)

@Calvin, c'mon. Seahawks defense against the backup?

Reasoning

@Deidre, Brees is and has been in a heavy decline whether or not the stats show it so this season is kind of expected. With Palmer/Tyrod you could easily cover his points, although Flacco's kind of a punt. Ingram's looking like he's secured a spot this year with the Saints main Running core though and with Brees out for however long, it's going to mean more RB touches + catches imo.

In a non ppr league would you flex joseph randle home agaimst the falcons or danny woodhead @minnesota

@Jodie, Think i'll go with Randle. Brandon Weeden's going to force the run game and atlanta has only been average so far in stopping it, and their two matchups have been easy.

Edward if you had to pick two between landry Larry Fitzgerald Mike Evans who would you take

@Nolan, Fitzgerald/Evans is who i'm kinda leaning towards. Game scripts for both games should result in more throws and higher points scored overall. landry's game is just going to be dependent on him being a target hog imo.

Frank Gore or Moncrief 1 point PPR FLEX

@Johnny, either really. Moncrief because Andrew Luck is going to go wild on the Titans to make up for the last two weeks. They're both equally as good plays on paper.

ed, would you trade steve smith + victor cruz for alshon jeffrey in a 12tm ppr? i also have jordan matthews.

@Hail, so basically trade up Steve Smith for Jeffery? I'd say do it.

RB2 this week (0.5ppr) pick one - Lamar Miller, Giovanni Bernard, Fred Jackson or Bilal Powell?

@Muriel, That's rough, but i'm going Bernard.

Milller's injured against a hard matchup, Bernard's isn't any softer but at least he isn't hurt.

Ed, who would you start at flex position in a ppr league this week.: jordan Cameron or Legarette Blount?

@Ester, Cameron. Blount's playing time is up in the air right now.

blount or ameer abdullah? standard

@Cary, Abdullah, same reason. Blount's play time is unknown right now. Dion Lewis got all but one carry last week.

Hi! My RBs are: Arian Foster, Gio, Matt Jones, David Johnson, Ronnie Hillman, Dion Lewis, Joique Bell and DeAngelo Williams. I have to drop one for a kicker and maybe even two because my TE is on bye next week and Heath Miller is a FA. What would you do?

@Bradley, Bell/Deangelo are looking like the best options for dropping with the return of Le'Veon and the amount of other options that have come to life on DET.

which is a better trade for Julio Jones? LeSean McCoy, Alshon Jeffery, and Donte Moncrief... Or Marshawn Lynch and Amari Cooper?

@Josefina, I'd say McCoy/Jeffery/Moncrief, but i don't know if it's really worth it unless your team is starving for talent. If you've got good starters at the other spots you might be better off keeping the guy who's projecting to finish as the #1 WR this year.

1 point ppr - should i trade rob gronkowski for demaryius thomas and jordan reed?

@Vance, no don't trade Gronk.

with Matthew Stafford a lil banged up and Tannehill lil ankle issue,need help on what 2qb's to start this week standard league....Tannehill, Stafford , Tyrod Taylor, Teddy Bridgewater

@Marlon, Think i'm going to actually say Tyrod and Bridge regardless of their matchups

i mean, regardless of their injuries*

higher floor for him is what i'm saying

Bridge's matchup is pretty neutral

Do you think Donte Moncrief could be a top 10 or top 15 WR?

@Josefina, personally no. I'm not a fan of Moncrief really, but a lot of other analysts are. Think we have to see the Colts offense come back together before we can start projecting them for top 12 spots again. Moncrief is definitely seeming like a bigger part of the offense though.

How do you feel about the lions defense this week?

@Jodie, playable. Peyton Manning's regression was expected. I told everyone about what he looked like last year and it's only gotten worse this year. It's likely that even if he puts up 2-3 TDs he's also on the way to putting up 1-2 interceptions to go along with it. Add in how terrible teh O-line is playing and there might be sacks to add.

pick 2 of the 3. Vincent jackson, mike evans, dion lewis

@Bruno, Evans and Lewis.

Who would you rather have rest of season, tom brady or andrew luck?

@David, Brady. Luck looks like he'll have issues with matchups beacuse of how bad the roster around him is. Brady's not having that as long as Gronk's around.

sorry...you say your going with who?

@Marlon, Bridge and Tyrod

Start VJax or Davante Adams this week?

@Lizzie, Adams. Return of Evans is going to kill all VJax value imo.

start dunbar or chris johnson - 1 point ppr?

@Vance, CJ for sure. 49ers are a very beatable defense, don't be surprised if this game becomes kinda a shoot out too.

How about jonathan stewart or melvin gordon?

@lizzie, I'd say Stewart. Gordon is seeing less snaps on the field than Danny Woodhead right now (75 vs 64)

really? cowboys are gonna have to rely on their backs to catch vs atl

@Vance, CJ's the main guy on the ground in ARI right now though, and against a far easier matchup.

Terrance Williams or Steve smith

@Jeff, Steve Smith. I wouldn't trust Weeden getting the ball out to a WR until it happens first.

Especially a guy like Williams who kinda needs help from the QB

Need flex play choose one.. Leonard Hankerson, Mark Ingram, Jeremy Maclin, Duke johnson

@Donna, I love Ingram this week cause Josh McCown's starting and it's a beatable defense.

Usually when veteran backups come in, they're prone to heavy checkdowns towards the RBs/TEs

since NO lacks TEs worth checking down to, i'm expecting Ingram / C.J. Spiller to see a lot of extra targets.

Should I start jimmy graham

@Jeff, yes

I just wasn't sure with Spiller coming back

@Donna, Spiller's return shouldn't affect him this week imo. Not until he actually shows he's worth more touches.

Why

@Jeff, because he's jimmy graham. He had dud games in NO too, i think he's had 1 zero point game every year there at least. He's still the second highest targetted TE in the redzone right now.

Dez Bryant for Brandin Cooks?

@Delmer, no

Ben Roethlisberger, LeSean McCoy, Le'veon Bell, Carlos Hyde, Antonio Brown, Jeffery, Jordan Matthews, Tyler Eifert!!!! This is my keeper league team, is there any improvements I should make or moves to upgrade my team

@Delmer, at least what i mean is, whoever is trading away Dez is losing hard

@josefina, all those names look good minus McCoy. I'd take a look at seeing what you can get for him since his value is going to go down after this year imo

should I start john brown?

@Carl, Brown is totally worth starting.

With that, i'm closing up the chat. Thanks for coming guys. I'll be on again next week. I'm in the regular chat pretty often so find me there if ya need anything, or add me on twitter. @edwardgorelik

And if you've got any questions left unanswered, just DM/tweet at me on twitter. @edwardgorelik
