What's up guys. I'll be answering any questions you have about lineups, waiver wire and anything else. Let's get it going!

Hype on Tyler Lockett gone too far? If your league does not have return points

@Jordan, Lockett's hype is okay right now. It's where it kinda should be. He's the deep man on an offense that runs and throws deep. He could have a 800/5 statline to finish the year, far from good but playable since it'll come in huge bursts.

Also, PLEASE NOTE: (i'll be repeating this all day here) please post the matchups if you're asking who to start/sit. Names aren't worth as much without knowing the opponent.

Ed you like Jonathan Stewart's matchup week 1 at jax?

@Wm, yeah. Jax has a good front but Stewart's able to play inside/outside + catch passes. Team should be ahead early and giving Stewart more carries as the game goes on.

should i drop vincent jackson for john brown

@Glenn, you might have a better player to drop but yes you should own john brown asap.

ppr latavius murray against bengals or chris ivory against browns week 1

@Laronda, Ivory. 100%. Browns were a bottom 5 run defense last year and they have very low chance of being up or even tied with the Jets at the end of the first half. Lots of runs for Ivory to clean out the clock.

trying to trade Alfred Morris for an RB or WR upgrade. RB: Frank Gore, Stewart, Rashad Jennings, Morris. WR: Antonio Brown, Andre Johnson, John Brown, Nelson Agholor, Mike Wallace. Anyone I should target off the top of your head? Thanks

@Williard, i can't really give you a "target" cause it's hard to know how your league values Morris, but you shuld be trying to et another RB with him for sure. Maybe the latavius murray owner thinks Morris is safer and would do a straight up trade.

sammy watkins vs indy, michael floyd vs NO, Mike Evans vs Ten, Brandon Coleman vs AZ. Start two. I think it'll come down to game time decision but if all are healthy, I'm starting watkins and evans.

@Herta, Evans is a must if he's healthy. Perrish Cox and McCourty are both injured. After that, i'll honestly go with Floyd. Watkins team is so bad on paper it's hard to buy in without seeing something. The NO defense is ridiculously terrible, and Floyd (if playing) is seeing the #3 corner, which should actually be the #5 corner on their depth chart. Meanwhile, Watkins is going to see Vontae Davis.

okay so drop joique bell vincent jackson c.j. spiller or todd gurley for john brown

@Glenn, personally i'd drop Joique, He's going to lose his job anyway this year imo.

Ed, do i start the jaguars or vikings defense this weekend?

@Edwina, need matchups.

RBs are Gore, T.J. Yeldon, Duke Johnson, Matt Jones, Shane Vereen. Should i drop one of them to stash Josh Robinson?

@Clara, Nah, those guys all have better upside nad playing potential than Robinson. Robinson's good and all but he's not an otherworldy talent, although he could be successful he's far from a guarantee for production/lead touches even if he does come in.

Yeldon vs Carolina or Kendall Wright at Tampa Bay?

@Laurence, I'll take Wright. Marcus Mariota already showed a connection with him during the preseason and the Titans should be behind early forcing balls to Wrights way. Tampa's secondary hasn't gotten any better over the offseaosn and last year they were 31st in DVOA vs #1 WRs and gave up the 3rd most fantasy points to WRs in general.

Watkins vs Colts, Charles Johnson vs 49ers. Who to start week 1?

@Sarah, Johnson. That 49ers team is going to be changing and trying to make up for all their losses, Watkins plays Vontae Davis.

Ed what are your thoughts on Brandon Coleman is he worth a add?

@Wm, worth adding yes, but his potential to perform doesn't seem all that high. It's not like he got any work in the preseason that makes him a must add, but you can't ignore a 6'6" WR on the Saints. I'd pick him up depending on who you're dropping for him.

Hello again. Would you try to go young and trade DeMarco Murray for Lamar Miller (and attempt to somehow squeeze K.Wright) in a deal in a deep dynasty league?

@Hollie, If you could get both, yes, if you can't, no. I think Murray has a much higher chance of being valuable the upcoming years than Miller due to his team + his skills, we don't even know if Miller's ever going to get more than 15 carries a game right now.

Drop. Devin Funchess or Lockett for B. Coleman?

@Clara, I might drop Lockett but honestly i'd rather have the #1 WR on SEA than the #3 on NO, maybe that's just me. Even if that WR is actually the #2.

Not sure if you're an IDP person Ed, but would you do Danny Trevanthan (denver playing balt) or Telvin Smith (Jax playing Car)?

@Jordan, i play in IDP yeah. They both feel like pretty good buys, but i'd go with Telvin since it's likely his team is down and trying to stop the run. I'm assumign tackles are where your IDP also gets most of its points.

joseph randle vs giants or danny woodhead vs Detroit....ppr

@Bella, i'll go with Woodhead unless something comes out explicitly stating that Rndle is starting tomrrow. Right now it's speculated that it's going to be DMC.

Ed would you drop vereen for coleman ppr?

@Wm, no

would you flex k wright against tampa or latavius murray against bengals PPR

@Laronda, i'll go with Wright here too. Same reasoning for Wright, Murray's game-script could throw the run game off as the raiders fall behind and the return of Burflict should improve the bengals run D.

is michael floyd worth an add in 12 team?

@deadmau5, yeah, floyd's down year was due to the QB carosuel they dealt with in ARI. There's always the chance he has the breakout he should have.

15:09mcajm

Hi. I need to drop 1 player to pick up DST. 10 team league. We start 2qbs, 2rbs, 2wrs, flex, te, dst, k. PPR League. My team: QBs: Philip Rivers, Joe Flacco, Josh McCown, Johnny Manziel; RBs: eddie lacy, j stew, ameer abdullah, bishop sankey, isaiah crowell, christine Michael WR: Antonio Brown, Demaryius Thomas, Roddy White, Marques Colston, Charles Johnson (MIN), K.Wright. Thanks!

@mcajm, i'd drop mccown. Hes going to do terrible this week anyway, you can grab him bcak if you need to.

Do you play in IDP leagues?

@hollie, yeah. My main two dynasties are both IDP with 11 defensive starters (1 DT, 2 DE, 3 LB, 2 CB, 2 S, 1 flex)

Think Christine Michael is worth a roster spot in a 12 team league?

@david, yes every league should own michael. Not because i can promise production, but because that upside is worth more than nearly every other player on the waivers.

Ed Burflict came back already?

@jordan, just checked looks like he actually hasn't. I'll actually take Murray over Wright after having checked that.

would you rather have floyd/coleman/lockett/devante parker/stevie johnson

@deadmau, Stevie

John Brown or roll with Alshon Jeffery?

@Falcon, if Ashon's playing, alshon.

Ed is it worth keeping cam as a backup if you have romo?

@Wm, yeah why not. That's potentially two top 5 QBs.

Diff team - flex Ivory against browns or kendall wright against tampa PPR THANKS

@Laronda, Ivory. Game script on his side to be ahead and fed carries + browns run D isn't good. Was 12th last yaer in allowed fantasy points and 31st in DVOA. Jets O-line is built to monster the run game and their only strong run defending piece is going to be head up against Mangold this week.

Do you have an opinion on Ra'shede Hageman? He is my DT 2 behind Aaron Donald. Still very raw but he seems to have terrific upside.

@Hollie i've never really watched Hageman. I'm still learning how to scout defensive players honestly, but the coaches seem to really like him and i'd be surprised if Quinn can't find a way to get him value. It's obvious he comes from the SEA coaching idea of "get good athletes, teach them the game" so i'd imagine he wants him to get things together.

Ed is Jon Stewart for Brandon Marshall a good trade?

@WM, it's a good trade for whoevers getting J stew. not so much the guy getting marshall.

jeremy maclin or agholor week 1

@Caitlyn, Agholor. Don't believe in Maclin until Alex Smith proves he can throw to a WR consistently.

There's 10 years of Alex Smith gameplay to look at that override 2 preseason games imo.

Sit 1. Maclin @ HOUS, A. Robinson vs CAR, C. Johnson @ SF, Stevie Johnson vs SD?

@Clara, I'd sit Maclin. Worst matchup + worst situation.

Alshon or Roddy White? or curveball Colston?

@javier, Alshon. Packers were 9th last year in points allowed to WRs and average in DVOA against #1 WRs.

They alos gave up an average of 71 yards per game to #1 WRs.

plus he is injured... so you say White?

@Javier, no alshon.

John brown, terrance Williams or brandin cooks this week

@reed, i'll take Cooks, safest of the three. If Floyd is out though i'd really be tempted to play Brown.

will Duke Johnson become the lead back in CLE?

@Clara, no way to really tell. The coaches see him as Giovanni bernard, and although he has the talent to take the 3-down role, Crowell is a better on the ground runner when he's on his game.

He hasn't been on his game recently though and he's starting the year with a really tough matchup.

Ed, Dynasty league standard scoring 2 QB league: Would you trade Eli Manning, Brandon Coleman, Jameis Winston for Cam Newton, Victor Cruz, Isaiah Crowell. My team: QB: Flacco, Manning, Winston. RB: Lacy, Gurley, Doug Martin, Knile Davis. WR/TE: Julio Jones, Watkins, Evans, Floyd, Julius Thomas

@Herta, If you could get a better piece than Cruz, i might. Newton trumps both of those QBs for me, and Crowell is still a guy who could be a high RB2/low RB1 if he can win out in his situation, but Cruz' injury and recovery is now on track to potentailly ruin his career.

would you drop bolden for Matt Jones?

@Tamera, yes, immediately.

15:20mcajm

Need to start 1 at flex in .75 ppr. Crowell, Sankey, Abdullah, Colston, White, C Johnson (Min), K. Wright

@mcajm, pos matchups please

post*

Also, PLEASE NOTE: (i'll be repeating this all day here) please post the matchups if you're asking who to start/sit. Names aren't worth as much without knowing the opponent.

should i drop McFadden for matt jones?

@Bella, nah mcfadden's upside is way higher this year.

I'd take the shot until he falls apart.

who to start Allen Robinson vs CAR or Alfred Blue vs KC?

@David, Robinson for sure. Jax will be behind and throwing. Same for HOU. only one of those two guys catch.

how do you think ivory will do all season? is he poised for a good fantasy season?

@janie, Ivory is a top 20 back if he's 16 game healthy. Jets O-line is built for power running and there's enough threats on the field to keep the box from getting stacked. Strong defense should lead to more attempts too.

15:23mcajm

Sorry about that. Need to start 1 at flex in .75 ppr. Crowell @ NYJ, Sankey @ TB, Abdullah @ SD, Colston @ ARZ, White PHI, C Johnson (Min) @ SF, K. Wright @ TB

@macjm, Go with Charles Johnson. #1 WR playing against what should be an injured #1 CB (think Trumaine Brock is dealing with something right now) with a good QB and a good offense against a struggling and changing defense.

@Edward what do you think of my 2 QBS for my league Tony Romo as my QB1 and Andy Dalton as my QB2

@David, looks good to me. Dalton with all his weapons back is a guy i have pegged for a return to the low end of the top 12.

start 2, Devante Adams, Frank Gore, Doug Martin.?????

@Matilda, Adams, Gore. I don't care what Gore's matchup is all season long, it's a top offense that throws to their RBs often.

Who should I start at flex this week: Coleman vs. PHI, Rueben Randle at DAL or B-Marsh vs. CLE?

@Tina, that's rough. Randle has the best game-scrpt but Coleman withthe best opportunity this week. I want to say Coleman because at least i know he'll get looks, and he only needs one good run to take it to the huse.

house*

Also once Arian Foster comes back (Not sure when, do you have an idea?) i have Eddy Lacy, Melvin Gordon and Arian as my Flex what do you think?

@David, no idea. Lacy/Foster is good, but i'd look to move Gordon personally.

Abdullah @SD or Gordon vs DEt?

@katia, i'll go with Abdullah. Much easier run D he's up against, much higher chance of leading his team in touches.

In a dynasty league (always) would you try to trade Julian Edelman for Jarvis Landry? I would need to add a bit more to get a deal done but does it make sense? Similar players but one in much older (even though Edelman has only played 2 full seasons in his career) and who knows what happens when Brady retires...

@Hollie, yes, i would. Landry isn't the underneath guy he was last year. He was a monster all over the field at LSU and people argued during the prospect pahse of that draft whether he or OBJ were the better receiver. This was a real argument. Landry should develop into a legit threat in the NFL that is way more than just an underneath receiver.

Agholor or golden tate at flex?

@Reuben, i'll take Agholor vs ATL's shaky corners on a team that's about to throw 50 times.

Ed you expect a better year than last for golden Tate?

@Wm, can't say i expect better. Maybe a little better. Depends on how the Lions choose to run their offense. If they balance it out with Abdullah, then probably.

Rivers or Stafford?

@Katia, Matthew Stafford. Way better targets, easier defense.

@Edward would you trade Melvin Gordon and Antonio Brown for D. Murray and Calvin Johnson?

@David, yes.

Pick three this week marshawn lynch f gore l Murray or a abdulah

@reed, post matchups please

@Edward rbs gore and jamaal charles. ..wrs randall cobb and allen robinson who to start at flex..agaholor yeldon t.williams or r.randle?

Sorry don't sure why it's double posting

@Reuben, it's cause the chat is moderated. So until i approve the message, it isn't visible.

Lynch at rams. Gore at buffalo Murray vs bengals. And Abdullah at sd

@reed, Lynch, Gore, Murray. Not going to use Abdullah in that group until we see what the usage looks like. The other three are definitely getting at least 80% of their teams touches.

Standard League / Flex Player - Who do I start? Melvin Gordon @Lions Ryan Mathews @Falcons Darren Sproles @Falcons Keenen Allen @Lions Larry Fitzgerald @Saints

@savananah, go with Fitz. Saints are missing their #1 CB and Byrd is injured. Easy matchup to burn them with.

better chance to pop this weekend, given roster holes and opponents... Eddie Royal vs GB, or S.Johnson vs DET?

@lowell, i'll go with Johnson. He's a way better player than Royal, with a way better QB. He also has much more versatility and value to his offense. matchup is bad, but situation feels better to me.

@Edward would you do Antonio Brown and Melvin Gordon for Randell Cobb and Matt Forte?

@David, i'd be willing to. It's a definite upgrade at RB for a slight downgrade at WR.

Based on your comment on Jarvis... would you be willing to give up a 2016 1st (pick between 1 and 28) for Landry?

@Hollie, probably not unless you're sure you're going to be drafting low next year. I wouldn't pay up for him as if he's already brought his game around, just saying he could.

1 Point PPR League. Woodhead vs Det or Sankey vs TB?

@clara, Woodhead. Hard to imagine that the Titans aren't behind and throwing this week.

@Edward - Standard League / Flex Player - Who do I start? Melvin Gordon vs Lions Ryan Mathews vs Falcons Daren Sproles vs Falcons Keenen Allen vs Lions Larry Fitzgerald vs Saints

@savannah, i answered above, go with Fitz. best matchup.

Gore worth a start this week?

@Reuben, gore should never be sat at all this year unless he's hurt.

Talking a top 5 offense that threw to their RB multiple times in the RZ last year.

Gore use to average 50 Receptions a year before Harbaugh came around too.

@Edward do you like more Brandin Cooks and Marshawn Lynch or Matt Forte and Randell Cobb for my Side Antonio Brown and Melvin Gordon?

Cooks/marshawn

There's good reason to think that Forte is falling apart, his elusive rating (broken tackles and yards after contact) and breakaway % numbers plummeted last year.

Better pickup... devante parker or Funchess?

@Sina, I hate saying this but it's probably Parker. Miami wants to install an eagles high tempo offense and that's good for everyone there.

@edward Fitz vs. NO or J. Brown vs. NO?

@patricia, J Brown's getting all the hype, and i'm going to go with him.

Also @ edward Adams vs. CHI or Algholor vs. ATL?

@Patricia, Adams. Trust Rodgers against a secondary that is changing.

Last question on this ... Edelman + MyCole Pruitt for Landry? It is 0.5 ppr. TE are very hard to find and I am not quite sure how valuable Pruitt can become eventually. Norv Turner seemed to really like him.

@Hollie, i wouldn't trust a second TE on the Vikings at all. Kyle Rudolph signed for like 3 more years.

Do the trade.

last one @ edward, in flex start Stevie Johnson vs. DET or Brandon Marshall vs. Cleve? concerned about haden?

@Patricia, i'd be less concerned abou Haden if i though the Browns could keep the game compeitive.

as it looks right now Browns should be down early and the Jets should be running the clock pretty early on.

Stevie's my pick.

A.Johnson or N. Agholor

Andre. Think he's going to see rookie Ronald Darby in his first ever game.

IDP - N. Bowman or P. Posluszny

@Xavier, Bowman. Both are good plays though, but Bowman's coverage has the higher chance of an INT.

I actually start R.Darby in my IDP league!

@Hollie, i'm playing against him in one of mine

devante parker gonna play week 1? or he limited

@Elenora, think he's still listed as limited. Doubt he's playing full time week 1 after missing so much practice.

10 more minutes before i sign off guys.

T.Y. Hilton has easy or tough coverage vs. BUF this week? You always start TY or any skill player on Indy correct?

@Patricia, pretty much yeah. The Bills have some good safety play but TY's just one of those one catch and it's over type of guys.

Texans DST. How will they do at home vs Chiefs?

@Katia, they present a really good matchup against them. Unfortunately the offense could put them in compromising positions.

@Katia, aka, there's better plays out there but Houston isn't exactly a guaranteed bust or boom or anything.

Will DAL be RBBC all year or do they want a #1 RB to emerge and carry 70% or more of the load?

@Patricia, every team wants a #1 RB to emerge

changing running backs keeps you from being able to play hurry up and telegraphs your play calling to the defense

can't tell you if one will, but they'll probably see if one does

Edward how much do you like Cooks over Randell Cobb

@David, i like Cobb over Cooks but there's nothing to say Cooks can't perform as well as Cobb. Cooks does have top WR potential in the NFL.

Think last year he was on pace for 160 targets too.

Owen Daniels vs BAL or Martellus Bennett vs GB?

@Katia, Bennett. Bal has very good coerage in the middle. GB does not. CHI's also going to be down and trying to throw a lot.

5 more minutes guys.

@ edward would you actually play Royal vs. GB over Marshall vs. Cleve even if Alshon plays?

@Patricia, it's sad that i kind of want to. But i mean, how do you sit Marshall for Royal. It feels crazy. At the same time, what's the upside of Marshall in CLE? 13 points or so right? I'm leaning Royal.

Eli or Russell Wilson?

@Digna, Eli. Matchup is way easier.

should i pick up benny cunningham

@gavin, only if you need someone for this week. Unlikely he takes over anything.

roto claims he should be owned in al leagues

dunno why, he's good but they've seen him as a change of pace back so far. It's not like he's going to take over for either Tre Mason or Gurley realistically.

If you have someone who isn't getting playing time at all, he might be worth owning over them

Broncos or Texans dst?

@Katia, Texans. I'm a lot more worried about the Ravens ability to score than the Chiefs.

Half point PPR trade question. would you Trailways Golden Tate for either Brandon Marshall for Davante Adams

@Damaris, yeah i'd trade Tate for Marshall. After this week, Marshall should be returning to high WR2 territory.

what are your thoughts on tyer lockett? is it worth dropping either owen daniels or vernon davis to make room for him on the roster?

@Shelly, i'd watch Lockett but i wouldn't drop someone i'm depending on for him. I can't see his upside as a 1000 yard player this year, only as a 800/5 type (similar to TY's rookie year) but the big games come in bursts that make him playable.

Would you trade either A.J Green or T.Y Hilton for Landry + Watkins? I would be losing a stud but it may be worth it in dynasty league.

@hollie, I'd move Hilton for them, but definitely not AJ.

is rashed Jennings a good starter this week v Dallas?

@Digna, the Giants RB situation is a bit messy. Hard to really tell you that anyones a good starter other than Vereen.

With that, i'm closing up the chat for today. Thanks for the questions everyone.

i'll be on the regular football chat room later tonight.

PPR league, need a flex. Allen Robinson, Jeremy Maclin, Kendall Wright, Charles Johnson or Isaiah Crowell. Thank you.

@Cheri, Allen Robinson

With that, i'm closing up the chat. Thanks for coming guys. I'll be on again next week. I'm in the regular chat pretty often so find me there if ya need anything, or add me on twitter. @edwardgorelik
