FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers & Advice for 5/30/15

Below are my FanDuel lineup picks for Saturday, May 30th. My goal with these DFS picks, as always, is to try to choose players who will outperform their expectations. These players can be high-cost players, or they can be sleepers, but we are always looking for players that have a chance to return the greatest value on FanDuel. Additionally, since the weekends generally have many afternoon and night games, I’ll make an effort to distribute my picks to cover all the timeslots going forward so that if you are playing an afternoon/night only league this article will still be useful.

Daily fantasy baseball leagues (DFS) are becoming the thing to do, and here at RotoBaller we are excited to help our users build their bankrolls. I’ll be covering FanDuel lineup picks, sleepers and general advice every Saturday and Sunday. I’ll also be putting my money where my mouth is by entering my final lineup (at the bottom of the article) into one of FanDuel’s many daily fantasy contests, so that RotoBaller users can compete against me.

Editor's Note: If you play on FanDuel, you should also check out RotoBaller’s DFS Partner DraftKings - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's FREE to enter and pays out $100,000 in cash prizes! Sign up Now and we'll give you free access to RotoBaller's Premium DFS Lineup Picks and Tools (a $29.99 value). You'll also receive a 100% bonus on your first DraftKings deposit.

Last Saturday’s Review

Last Saturday we played the All Day MLB 50/50. Here is how we did:

Entry: $2

Winnings: $3.60

Saturdays For the Season: +$12.68 (+205.7%)

Pick Highlights: Once again pitching carried us to a winning day. A.J. Burnett was brilliant, as he has been all May with a 5-0 record now, registering 20 points on the back of a 10 K performance. Our low-value pick of the day, Willie Bloomquist chipped in a helpful 3.25 points while big bats Kris Bryant and Adrian Gonzalez helped out with almost 8 points combined.

Relationship Status: “This is getting serious”

DFS Starting Pitchers To Consider for FanDuel

Gio Gonzalez (SP, WAS) - $8,700

Gio is one of the higher priced pitchers on the board today, but the matchup is hard to resist. The Reds are one of the worst teams in baseball, and Reds hitters have recorded an aggregate line of just .181/.250/.257 in 81 total at-bats versus Gonzalez. Expect Gio to go deep in this game and get a win against Cincy.

Tom Koehler (SP, MIA) - $6,800

Koehler is your lower priced option for the day, and it's purely a matchup-based play for me. Facing the New York Mets, Koehler has allowed a triple slash line of just .180/.242/.266 in 122 career at-bats registered against him. The Mets offense has rebounded a bit recently, but Koehler's history in addition to taking the mound in the pitcher's friendly Citi Field has me thinking he'll have a solid day. Additionally, he faces off against Jon Niese who has a terrible history of his own against the Marlins, so a win is definitely in play here for Koehler.

DFS Infielders To Consider for FanDuel

Ryan Zimmerman (1B, WAS) - $2,800

Zimmerman's batting average is nowhere near what it's been for his career (.227 vs .283), but he's still delivering RBI with a decent amount of power. Take into consideration that he's hitting .333 with a home run in his 18 career at-bats off of opposing pitcher Jason Marquis, and he looks like a bargain today.

Dustin Pedroia (2B, BOS) - $3,300

I've written up Pedroia in this space almost every week, and the game that he had on Wednesday (2 HR w/ 4 RBI) is exactly why. Very few second basemen are capable of putting up big games like that, and even fewer are capable of doing it for around $3,000. He's still way down the list at 2B and outproducing more than half of the guys ahead of him on that list.

DFS Outfielders To Consider for FanDuel

Carlos Gonzalez (OF, COL) - $2,900

CarGo has been miserable this year. He's hitting just over .200 with only 4 HR, and his days of stealing 20+ bases seem to be long gone. However, this is still a guy that can have a multi-HR game and put up double digit FanDuel points. At this price, he's worth the risk, especially considering his .375 batting average in 16 career at-bats against Aaron Harang.

Giancarlo Stanton (OF, MIA) - $4,400

Stanton is my stud of the day. I always try to get one of the top hitters into my lineup and Stanton is my guy today facing off against the New York Mets' Jon Niese. The overall average is down this year thus far thanks to a career low BABIP, but the power remains (13 HR and 42 RBI). I wouldn't be surprised if he edges his way to the top of the MVP race by season end. He has a great career record off of Niese, hitting .407 with 3 HR in 27 career at-bats.

Matt Holliday (OF, STL) - $3,200

Holiday is another player I continue to write up. He's remarkably consistent, reaching base in every game thus far this season. The power has still not shown up this season, but yet again this is another guy that is capable hitting 2HR in any game. Consistency AND upside = automatic roster spot.

FanDuel Sleeper Value of the Day

Nick Hundley (C, COL) - $2,700

For a catcher getting at-bats every day, hitting around .300 and has traditionally had good pop, this is just too cheap.

My DFS Lineup on FanDuel

Today I’ll be playing in $15K Sat MLB Sac Fly . Remember to check your lineups throughout the day. You never want to get a goose egg for a guy that didn’t play.
