Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 6:
Kirk Cousins, Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins has a bounce-back opportunity as his team welcomes the Buffalo Bills to Sin City in Week 6. Cousins was taken out in the fourth quarter of a blowout Week 5 loss to the New England Patriots so rookie Fernando Mendoza could get reps in, although he eclipsed 240 yards for a fourth straight game.
Through five games, Cousins ranks eighth in the league in passing yards (1,269) and second in touchdowns (12), with just four interceptions on the year. The Bills' defense has struggled mightily against the pass, allowing 280.4 yards per game and 13 total touchdowns in the air. This opens the door for Vegas to have a pass-heavy game, and Cousins is a viable streaming option at home against an inconsistent defense.
Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has thrown three touchdown passes in three straight games and will look to maintain that streak in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay has been solid defensively so far this season, holding opposing quarterbacks to the ninth-fewest fantasy points per contest.
The Buccaneers are also one of just seven teams allowing fewer than 300 yards of offense per game through five weeks. Given the difficult matchup and the fact that Pittsburgh is thin at wide receiver, with Michael Pittman Jr. (foot), Roman Wilson (finger), and Ben Skowronek (calf) all inactive, Rodgers isn't necessarily set up for success in this one.
Nonetheless, Tampa Bay has been significantly tougher against the run, so it would not be surprising to see Rodgers attempt 35-plus passes for the fourth time this year. The health of DK Metcalf (illness) will be worth monitoring heading into Sunday, but assuming he plays, Rodgers should be viewed as a viable streaming option and high-end QB2 in Week 6.
Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
The quarterback that ranks third in the NFL in passing attempts per game is none other than Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young. Surprisingly, the Panthers offense has turned it around this season, and become one of the better units in the NFL.
Young has been unleashed by offensive coordinator Brad Idzik, who took over play calling duties after multiple seasons of Panthers head coach Dave Canales calling those shots. And Idzik has allowed Young to flex his passing prowess. As a result, the fourth-year pro ranks third in pro football in fantasy points per game, with 23.2. He's become a must-start in every game he plays.
He'll face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6. They'll be without their starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts (blood clots) and are coming off two devastating one-score losses. Carolina should opt to continue to air the ball out to its receivers, as Idzik is making a case for head coaching consideration through five weeks of the 2026 NFL season.
Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough completed 16-of-25 pass attempts for just 96 yards and two interceptions in Week 5's loss to the Vikings. His 3.8 yards per attempt and 38.1 passer rating were both the worst marks of his young career, as he faced constant pressure from a relentless Vikings front that posted a 50% pressure rate.
This was Shough's first game of the season without at least 252 passing yards and a touchdown. He will look to bounce back against a Giants defense allowing 199.4 passing yards per game, the seventh-fewest in the league, but surrendering the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Shough ranks as QB13 in RotoBaller's rankings this week.
C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud will have new acquisition Marvin Harrison Jr. available for the team's Week 6 matchup in London against the Jaguars. Stroud has been putting up good numbers in the last several weeks, and he led his team to their first win of the season last week in Tennessee. He threw for 261 yards and a touchdown while running for another score on a season-high six rushing attempts.
Stroud has averaged 37.0 pass attempts per game, with at least 30 pass attempts in all but one of his five games this season. With so much volume, he has averaged 280.4 passing yards per game with a total of six passing scores and no interceptions.
He'll be in a tough matchup against the Jaguars this week, who have allowed the 11th-fewest fantasy points to QBs this season. His volume and having Harrison available keep him as a solid second QB option, though, and he lands at No. 15 in RotoBaller's Week 6 rankings. He can be an emergency starter in single-QB leagues if needed, but is much more solid as a strong QB2 in dual-quarterback formats.
