2026 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 2:
Caleb Douglas, Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Caleb Douglas made his NFL debut count on Sunday, catching five of seven targets for a team-high 94 yards in a 27-13 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. The yardage set a franchise record for a player making his Dolphins debut. Miami used the 75th overall pick on Douglas in April, and head coach Jeff Hafley said before Week 1 that Douglas and fellow rookie Chris Bell deserved to start. Douglas then went out and led the team in receiving despite Malik Willis completing only 15 passes.
The encouraging part for fantasy managers is that the production came with a role already in place. Seven targets in his first NFL game is enough to make the usage worth chasing. Bell and Malik Washington are still part of the receiver mix, and Miami's passing game remains a concern. That keeps Douglas from being an automatic Week 2 starter. It should not keep him off waiver claims, though.
In 12-team leagues, Douglas belongs near the top of the wide receiver pickup list and makes more sense as an upside stash against San Francisco.
Mike Washington Jr., Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders running back Mike Washington Jr. made good use of his limited work in Sunday's 27-13 win over the Miami Dolphins, turning seven carries into 41 yards. Ashton Jeanty still owned the backfield with 23 carries and six catches, so Washington is not pushing for a starting fantasy spot in Week 2. He is becoming harder to leave on waiver wires, though.
The Raiders traded up to take Washington 122nd overall in April, and the 6-foot-2, 228-pound rookie opened the season second to Jeanty on the depth chart. Washington also handled first-team work when Jeanty left an August practice with an injury, giving Las Vegas a chance to see him with the starting offense before the games counted. Seven carries do not give Washington much standalone value yet, especially with Jeanty healthy.
They do reinforce his place as the back fantasy managers want behind him. Washington should be stashed in 12-team leagues before that role becomes more expensive, rather than viewed as a Week 2 play against the Chargers.
Denzel Boston, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns rookie wide receiver Denzel Boston was one of his team's few bright spots in a 34-10 Week 1 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 22-year-old recorded two catches for 59 yards and a touchdown on four targets. As long as quarterback Deshaun Watson remains the starter in Cleveland, it will be difficult for fantasy managers to have a great deal of trust in the Browns' passing game.
Still, Boston led his team in receiving yards and finished tied for second in targets in his first NFL game. He also showed off his explosive ability with a 46-yard touchdown catch against the Jaguars, proving that he may still be able to provide fantasy production in an inefficient Cleveland offense. For his season-long upside, Boston profiles as a logical waiver wire target in fantasy leagues with 12 or more teams. He carries mid-end FLEX upside with risk heading into Week 2.
Jadarian Price, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks running back Jadarian Price rushed for 52 yards on 10 carries against the New England Patriots on Wednesday night. He also added two receptions for six yards. Price started the game and ran ahead of fellow running back George Holani. The two finished with similar carry counts (10 to eight) and snap shares (48% to 46%). However, Price was the more effective back, with Holani only gaining 29 yards on his carries.
The Seahawks' offense was out of sorts for much of this game, but Price still had a couple of explosive runs that were eye-popping.
He is clearly the most talented healthy running back on the roster, and Seattle figures to use him more and more as the season progresses. While his overall fantasy output was pedestrian at best, Price was still the clear lead back. With quarterback Sam Darnold (hip) potentially a candidate to miss some time, Seattle may lean on the run even more moving forward.
Expect the offense to right the ship sooner rather than later, giving Price plenty of chances to score fantasy points. He draws a juicy matchup with the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2.
Malachi Fields, New York Giants
New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malachi Fields did not have a huge statistical day in his team's Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys, recording two catches for 25 yards on four targets. However, the 23-year-old was on the field for 72% of his team's offensive snaps, by far the most of any Giants wide receiver. New York has a clear WR1 in Malik Nabers, who played just 52% of the snaps in his first game back from the knee injury that ended his 2025 season.
Still, if Fields can secure the WR2 spot in New York, he could eventually see consistent target volume on a week-to-week basis. Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart completed 79.3% of his pass attempts for 230 yards and three touchdowns in Week 1, which should give fantasy managers some added faith in the overall health of the team's passing game. Given his season-long upside, Fields profiles as a worthy stash candidate in deeper league formats coming out of Week 1.
While he has not entered must-start status, managers should get ahead of their leaguemates and stash potential mid-season FLEX options.
