Jordan Staal Scores in Third Consecutive Game
Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal continues his impressive start to the 2026 Stanley Cup Finals with another goal in Saturday's 5-4 double-overtime loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. He bagged Carolina's third goal as the team tied the game from a 4-0 deficit in the third period. Staal joined Brad Marchand as the second player aged 37 or older to open the Stanley Cup Finals with a three-game goal streak. On Saturday night, Staal also recorded a power-play assist, giving him four points through the first three games of the Finals. The Hurricanes captain has contributed five goals and four assists in 16 games during the playoffs, averaging 4.8 hits.
