The Cincinnati Bengals announced on Saturday that they signed free-agent journeyman quarterback Josh Johnson to an undisclosed deal. Johnson will continue his NFL career into his 11th season, and this will be his second stint with Cincinnati, as he also played for them back in 2013. The 39-year-old veteran has suited up for seven different teams in his career. He was with the Washington Commanders in 2025, going 34-for-54 for 372 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in five games (two starts). The Bengals needed some more quarterback depth going into the 2026 season after Jake Browning signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency. As things currently stand, Johnson figures to compete with Sean Clifford for backup duties behind starter Joe Burrow. In his 10 NFL seasons, Johnson has completed only 58.7% of his 412 pass attempts for 2,669 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions.--Keith Hernandez
