Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 16:
Audric Estime, RB, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints running back Audric Estime looks set to have a significant role in New Orleans' backfield for the Week 16 matchup at home this Sunday against the visiting New York Jets. Rookie Devin Neal (hamstring) has been ruled out, and veteran Alvin Kamara (knee, ankle) has yet to practice since spraining his MCL back in Week 12. After Neal was injured in Sunday's upset win over the Carolina Panthers, Estime and Evan Hull split the backfield work, with Estime carrying the ball three times for 11 yards and catching all three of his targets for 39 yards.
Hull had four totes for 12 yards but wasn't involved in the passing game. While Estime is worthy of a waiver-wire pickup going into Week 16's favorable matchup against the Jets, keep in mind that he had just three carries all year going into last week. Additionally, rookie quarterback Tyler Shough will continue to be a factor in the Saints' ground game, as he's had at least six carries in each of his last four starts.
At best, Estime will be a low-upside, touchdown-dependent RB3/flex for desperate fantasy managers this weekend if Kamara doesn't return.
Kimani Vidal, RB, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers running back Kimani Vidal led the backfield in snaps, routes, and two-minute offense in the team's 16-13 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, but struggled to produce efficiently, rushing 12 times for just 33 yards while being outgained per carry by Omarion Hampton. Vidal's value continues to come from his role rather than explosiveness, as he remains the preferred back on passing downs.
The Chargers' focus on a ground-heavy approach keeps Vidal relevant in fantasy, but his weekly output stays unpredictable. In Week 16, the Cowboys present a mixed matchup, allowing rushing touchdowns at a high rate but limiting overall efficiency. Vidal is seen as a low-end RB2 or flex option, especially in PPR formats, though his ceiling is limited by sharing the backfield.
Chris Rodriguez Jr., RB, Washington Commanders
Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. (hip) was a full participant in both Tuesday's and Wednesday's practice sessions and is expected to return in Week 16 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Rodriguez missed Week 15's game against the New York Giants with a hip injury but was reportedly close to playing last week. Even if the third-year back is fully healthy entering Week 16, rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt had a big game on the ground in Week 15 and may have cut into Rodriguez's workload.
Rodriguez has played only 30% of the snaps this season, and with Washington's offensive struggles with quarterback Jayden Daniels, it's hard to trust any back on this team. Assuming he's good to go for their divisional showdown against the Eagles, Rodriguez offers low-end FLEX value in Week 16.
Jayden Reed, WR, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (personal) was not present at the team's practice on Wednesday due to a personal matter, according to the team's official website. Reed should be back at practice on Thursday and play on Saturday against the division-rival Chicago Bears in Week 16. The 25-year-old has played in just four games in 2025 due to a fractured foot and broken collarbone. Since returning in Week 14, Reed has nine catches on 10 targets for 86 yards while also having two rushing attempts for 22 yards.
Quarterback Jordan Love continues to spread the ball around to Green Bay's many receiving options, but Reed will remain an integral part of the offense in the final three weeks of the season. It looks like fellow wideout Christian Watson (chest) will play on Saturday, but Reed will still have high-end WR3/flex value for fantasy managers against the Bears.
Devin Singletary, RB, New York Giants
New York Giants running back Devin Singletary was a popular waiver-wire addition following the team's Week 13 loss to the New England Patriots, when he recorded 102 scrimmage yards and a touchdown following Tyrone Tracy Jr.'s hip injury on a Monday night. Tracy had the Week 14 bye to heal up, though, and he returned as New York's clear lead back in Sunday's 29-21 loss to the Washington Commanders, leading the backfield with 15 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown. Tracy also caught all three of his targets for 27 yards and a second score through the air.
Singletary was quiet, carrying the ball five times for only 13 yards and catching his only target for a one-yard gain. The lackluster day ended a stretch of three straight games with at least 40 rushing yards for the 28-year-old Singletary. Tracy will be the RB1 again in Week 16 versus the Vikings, but Singletary is a high-end handcuff option for fantasy managers for the final three weeks of the 2025 season.
