We have a decent-sized Thursday slate as 20 of the 30 teams are in play today, with baseball going on all day starting very early in the AM if you are on the West Coast like me. I like having baseball on all day; it makes the day go by much faster. Especially if you have some home run bets to keep you entertained.

Below, you'll read about my favorite home run props from MLB games on Thursday, May 7, 2026. The current odds given reflect the best price as of the publication, but remember to always shop around at other sportsbooks so you can get more value on your wagers. MLB Prop Bets - Today's Home Run Prop Picks (5/7/2026)
Bobby Witt Jr. (KCR) vs Slade Cecconi (CLE) OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+500 Fanatics)
We have some winds blowing in Kansas City! We are looking at 15+ mph winds blowing out towards center field. Slade Cecconi has been a good target for home runs this season, as he has given up eight home runs already. Five of which have come against RHH. Bobby Witt Jr. has been consistently great against righties, racking up 30 hits already.
The power has been a bit lacking, but he has been hitting the ball harder lately. His last five batted balls against RHP have been 98 mph or harder. Cecconi has been giving up hard contact to righties, including a near 16% Barrel% and a respectable 35% HardHit%.

If Bobby can get some hard contact as he has been, then it won't take much to get one over the wall with the wind blowing the way it is. This season, Witt has a 13.3% Barrel% and 46.7% HardHit% against RHP. With the wind blowing out, I'm surprised we are getting as good of odds with the caliber of player Witt is.
Last season, Witt hit righties to the tune of 22 homers, so we have seen the kind of damage he has been able to do; why not here?
Ben Rice (NYY) vs MacKenzie Gore (TEX) OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+300 BetMGM)
First game of the day, and we can start it off with a Ben Rice dinger. I don't love playing Left of Left matchups, but I think this is a good spot for one. We have winds blowing out to right field at 10+ mph, on top of it being the short porch in Yankee Stadium. This is a great spot for Rice to get one against MacKenzie Gore.
Ben Rice actually has some surprising splits against lefties this season; he has five home runs to go along with a SLG of .867 and an ISO of .500. He sits pretty with a 20% Barrel% and 60% HardHit%.
MacKenzie Gore hasn't gone against many lefties this season, but he is getting hit pretty hard by them. He has only given up one home run, but has a Barrel% of 21.1%, and a HardHit% of 47.4%.
Ben Rice has been out with a thumb injury, so that is a bit concerning. If he does end up being available for this one, he is in a great spot against Gore.
