When Is Marvin Harrison Jr. Coming Back - Fantasy Football Injury Return Update for Week 16 (2025)

Marvin Harrison Jr. - Fantasy Football Rankings, WR, Waiver Wire, NFL DFS, Rookies

When is Marvin Harrison Jr. coming back? Will Marvin Harrison Jr. play again this season? Read about Marvin Harrison Jr.'s return date and injury updates for 2025 as of Week 16.

Arizona Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. was drafted fourth overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he entered his rookie season with sky-high expectations. Unfortunately, he was overshadowed by fellow rookies Brian Thomas Jr., Malik Nabers, and Ladd McConkey. There was hope that Harrison's second season would bring him to the stardom he was projected to reach.

Sadly, Harrison dealt with some early-season struggles, and he has also suffered from multiple injuries and other medical concerns. Harrison has not played since Week 13 when he sustained a heel injury against the Buccaneers.

When will Harrison be returning? What is his outlook for the rest of the season? Continue reading for more information.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Injury Update for Fantasy Football

Harrison has experienced several setbacks this season. His first injury occurred in Week 6 when he sustained a concussion against the Colts, although he cleared the concussion protocol ahead of Arizona's Week 7 matchup with Green Bay. Then, before Week 11, Harrison underwent an emergency appendectomy that held him out for two weeks.

However, Harrison's current injury occurred in Week 13 versus the Buccaneers. He caught six passes for 69 yards that week before suffering an injury to his right heel in the second half. Harrison has been sidelined for Arizona's past two games as a result.

After Harrison was ruled out for Week 15 on Friday, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon clarified that Harrison is "doing a lot better" and that he expects him to return this season. This was despite the Cardinals having already been eliminated from postseason contention.

The regular season is winding down, so there is not much time remaining for Harrison to make his return. Thus, we can infer from Gannon's comments that he has a real chance to suit up in Week 16. With the Cardinals out of the playoff hunt, though, there is no reason for them to rush back their young wideout.

Moreover, Harrison has not practiced since hurting his heel. It is tough to be optimistic about his chances of playing this weekend until he logs at least a limited practice. While Harrison's chances of playing on Sunday remain unclear, it seems more likely than not that he will be inactive for the third week in a row.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Fantasy Football Outlook

Harrison has averaged 10.5 half-PPR points in his 10 appearances this season. If he can suit up for Week 16 against the Falcons, he should return to this baseline. Atlanta has had the eighth-weakest defense against opposing WRs this season, meaning Harrison could see a favorable matchup in his return.

Michael Wilson has emerged as a valuable weapon for the Cardinals during Harrison's absence, though. In the four games Harrison has missed, Wilson has caught 41 passes on 60 targets for 499 yards and three touchdowns. That stat line earned him an average of 22.1 half-PPR points in those outings. If Harrison is out again, Wilson will remain a must-start.

Wilson's numbers subsided in Week 13, though, in the one game that Harrison played over the past five weeks. Wilson had three catches on seven targets for 36 yards that week, compared to Harrison's six catches on seven targets for 69 yards. Harrison will remain heavily involved even with Wilson's ascension.

Star tight end Trey McBride will also be a huge factor. McBride has been incredibly consistent, finishing as a top-3 tight end in five of the last six weeks. Still, Harrison should be fired up as a WR2/3 on Sunday, if available. While his season thus far has been disappointing, he can still make an impact in the fantasy playoffs.
