Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season is almost here, which means we could see some movement ahead of the trade deadline. GMs are looking to add talent to their rosters, which is the same situation many fantasy football managers have found themselves in.
In this article, we will focus on Tyler Lockett, Jayden Reed, and Roman Wilson. Lockett was released by the Titans last week, but he didn't stay out of the league for long, as he reunited with Pete Carroll and signed with the Raiders on Monday. Reed is getting closer to his expected return date, while Wilson had the best game of his career in the Steelers' loss to the Packers on Sunday night.
Are Lockett, Reed, and Wilson worth adding off the waiver wire in Week 9? Here are the latest outlooks on each for fantasy football.

Many NFL fans believe the Tennessee Titans are a career graveyard for once-great wide receivers, and that proved to be the case for Lockett. The former Seahawks icon looked completely washed up in Tennessee, recording just 70 yards in seven games.

Last week, Lockett requested to be released, and the Titans granted his request. He signed with the Raiders on Monday, reuniting with his former HC, Pete Carroll, and QB Geno Smith.
Trade rumors have linked Jakobi Meyers with a move away from Las Vegas, and Lockett's history with Smith and Carroll could make him an intriguing low-risk pickup for the coming weeks.
Jayden Reed Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 35% of Leagues

After leading the Packers in receiving yards in each of his first two seasons in the league, Reed spent most of the preseason in a walking boot due to suffering a Jones fracture in his left foot.
First time I’ve seen Jayden Reed at practice since his collarbone and foot surgeries after Week 2. Expectation is he returns late this season. pic.twitter.com/iwK9nBSdZc

Jones made the unusual decision to play through the injury this season, as he looked to make his case for a contract extension by leading an extremely competitive Packers WR room.
However, Reed's decision backfired, as he suffered an (unrelated) injury in Week 2, fracturing his collarbone. Reed was placed on Injured Reserve as he decided to get surgeries for both injuries and is expected to be back over the next few weeks.
While Christian Watson's return might complicate things, Reed has proven that he can lead the Packers' receiving core before, and will be more motivated than ever to get paid once this season ends.
The Packers will play against bottom-ten defenses, such as the Giants, Bears (twice), and Ravens, to close out their season, and these games present a great opportunity for Reed to establish himself once again.
Roman Wilson Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 0% of Leagues
Baller Move: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
Injuries prevented Wilson from making an impact as a rookie, but he also didn't receive many opportunities at the start of his sophomore campaign.

He had just one catch for seven yards in his first four games, but his snap count has been increasing gradually since the Steelers' bye week.
Wilson caught three passes for 29 yards in his next two games before getting his first career start in Week 8 against the Packers. Wilson recorded 74 yards and scored his first NFL touchdown in that game, and finished as the half-PPR WR7 with 15.4 points.
The Steelers are struggling with the depth of their WR room, and Wilson's breakout game could mean big things for him moving forward.
