Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlooks

Ryan Flournoy, WR, Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Flournoy splashed onto the scene in Week 5, seeing a team-high nine targets and hauling in six of them for 114 yards against the New York Jets. The production was a career high for the second-year receiver out of Southeast Missouri State.

With star wideout CeeDee Lamb (ankle) still not practicing on Thursday, Flourney becomes a longshot option for fantasy managers in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers. In deeper leagues with multiple flex spots, he is worth a roster spot this week to see if he can continue to see some opportunities in the passing game.

However, once CeeDee Lamb returns, he could likely go back to the waiver wire, as quarterback Dak Prescott will likely continue to lean on his other playmakers like Jake Ferguson and George Pickens over Flournoy.

Hassan Haskins, RB, Chargers

Los Angeles Chargers running back Hassan Haskins is now stepping into a primary role after Omarion Hampton (ankle) was placed on IR this week as the team faces the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Haskins, who had an unimpressive five carries for 13 yards last week following Hampton's injury, will share work with Kimani Vidal after OC Greg Roman said it will be "all hands on deck" when asked who the lead back would be.

Haskins' advantage comes from his 6-2, 228lb frame and familiarity with Jim Harbaugh's system from their time together at Michigan. While his 3.0 career yards per carry is underwhelming, the Miami Dolphins are dead last against the run, giving up over 200 rushing yards to Carolina Panthers backup Rico Dowdle last week.

Despite the favorable matchup, the split workload and a more explosive Vidal should temper volume expectations. RotoBaller projects Haskins as RB30. He's a mid-range RB3/FLEX option based on potential goal-line usage and favorable matchup, but managers shouldn't expect a workhorse role.

Kendrick Bourne, WR, 49ers

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne set a new career-high in receiving yards in Week 5. With Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs) out of the picture due to injuries, Bourne caught 10 of his 11 targets for 142 yards in the 49ers' 26-23 win over the Rams.

Pearsall has already been declared out for Week 6 and Jennings is listed as questionable, meaning Bourne could see heavy involvement on Sunday. With Brock Purdy (toe) also out, Mac Jones (knee, oblique) will draw another start.

Jones has been solid in relief and was under center for Bourne's massive game last week, so the quarterback change does not signal a downgrade for the receiver's prospects. Bourne projects as a low-end WR3 against the Buccaneers.

Kimani Vidal, RB, Chargers

Los Angeles Chargers running back Kimani Vidal enters Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins, sharing the backfield with Hassan Haskins after Omarion Hampton (ankle) was placed on IR this week. Vidal looked like the more explosive option last week, averaging 4.5 yards per carry on four rushes and splitting targets with Haskins.

Facing the Miami Dolphins, who rank dead last in average rushing yards allowed, presents a significant opportunity for the backfield. However, OC Greg Roman confirmed a committee approach that limits Vidal's volume. Although he's capable in the passing game, don't assume Vidal is set to handle most pass-catching downs, as he only posted 18 receptions in his final year at Troy.

RotoBaller ranks him as RB33. He could be more of a touchdown-dependent high-end RB3/FLEX option this week, and managers should monitor his usage throughout the game.

Taysom Hill, TE/QB, Saints

New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore said that tight end/quarterback Taysom Hill has "been taking reps" at quarterback and is "definitely available to be a backup quarterback" to Saints starter Spencer Rattler. Hill famously played quarterback in college and started nine games under center for New Orleans across the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

The 35-year-old completed a 19-yard pass in Week 5, his first game of 2025 after being activated off the physically unable to perform list. Hill is officially third on the Saints quarterback depth chart behind Rattler and rookie Tyler Shough. Most likely, Hill will see most of his touches as a rusher and receiver in a gadget role.

Still, any significant playing time at quarterback would make Hill a must-start player in fantasy, as he would likely still be eligible at the tight end position in most league formats.
