Keon Coleman, Jaylen Waddle, Rome Odunze: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 6

Keon Coleman - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL DFS Picks

Should I start Keon Coleman, Jaylen Waddle, Rome Odunze for Week 6? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.

Injuries continue to impact all positions in fantasy football, but are hitting the wide receiver position the hardest. That said, there are still plenty of decisions that need to be made each week to maximize your team’s fantasy performance.

In this article, we will look at three players (Rome Odunze, Jaylen Waddle, and Keon Coleman) who have had varying degrees of success in 2025.

Should fantasy managers start Odunze, Waddle, and Coleman in 2025? Read below to find out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Should I Start Rome Odunze for Fantasy Football?

Chicago Bears’ second-year wide receiver Rome Odunze has been one of the biggest surprises in the NFL after falling flat as a rookie. In 2024, Odunze caught just 54 of 101 targets for 734 yards and three touchdowns, finishing with 8.5 PPR points per game. Odunze was used mostly as a downfield, contested catch passer, frequently struggling to connect with fellow rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.

The Bears upgraded their coaching staff (former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson) and their offensive environment this offseason. That has helped Odunze show the talent that made him a top 10 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Through four games, Odunze has caught 20 of 35 passes for 296 yards and five touchdowns. More importantly, he is clearly operating as the primary target in Chicago’s revamped passing attack. That role immediately had an impact on his fantasy production. Odunze is the WR4 in PPR points per game (19.9) with four top 20 finishes in four weeks.

His Week 6 opponent, the Washington Commanders, has allowed the eighth most receiving yards to wide receivers (1,272) and the fourth most yards per route run (7.4) this season. They are also allowing the seventh-highest explosive play rate to wide receivers in 2025 (15.0%).

We are still working with a small sample size, so it is important to keep expectations somewhat in check for Odunze coming out of the bye week. However, that means that the second-year pass catcher can safely be started as a high-end WR2 with top 10 upside going forward.

Should I Start Jaylen Waddle for Fantasy Football?

Jaylen Waddle wasted no time making an instant impact in Miami’s passing game as the WR1 after Tyreek Hill’s season-ending injury in Week 4. Waddle had season-highs in targets (9), receptions (6), and receiving yards (110), and scored his third touchdown of the season. He finished as the WR8 in PPR scoring on the week (23.0).

It was the third time Waddle scored double-digit fantasy points this season and the second time he had more than 15.0 points in a game. The veteran receiver has now climbed up to the WR21 in 2025 PPR scoring (14.1). Waddle is now averaging 6.4 targets, 3.6 receptions, and 59 receiving yards per game.

The Chargers’ defense has been strong against wide receivers this season, but it has also shown that they can be beaten. They have given up above-average performances to Hollywood Brown (10 receptions for 99 yards in Week 1), Jakobi Meyers (six receptions for 68 yards in Week 2), and Deebo Samuel (eight receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown in Week 6) this season.

Waddle is a locked-in top 24 option in fantasy for the remainder of the season (as long as Tua Tagovailoa remains healthy) with weekly top 12 upside in the right game environments.

Should I Start Keon Coleman for Fantasy Football?

The hope entering the 2025 season was that Buffalo Bills’ second-year receiver Keon Coleman would be ready to emerge as a potential alpha wide receiver. We have gotten flashes of him taking that step this season, but it has still been far too inconsistent.

Coleman is averaging 10.7 PPR points per game this season (WR40), but most of that is on the back of a WR2 finish in Week 1 (25.2 points). Since that game, Coleman has hit double digits just one other time. The Bills' passing attack is still too spread out between numerous pieces for any one player to emerge as a top-flight fantasy wide receiver.

Buffalo currently has four players with an 11.0% or higher target share. However, they don’t have a single player above 19.0% either. Five different players have at least 14 targets this season.

In order for Coleman to be more than a FLEX play in fantasy, he either needs Buffalo to be in a shootout or he needs to catch a touchdown pass. His Week 6 opponent, the Atlanta Falcons, has quietly been one of the better defenses in the NFL against receivers this season.

Coleman is still far too boom-or-bust to trust weekly in fantasy, but his skill set and offensive environment make him a player you can gamble on in a pinch each week. It is hard to consider him anything more than a FLEX play, even in leagues with deeper lineup formats.
